What to buy?30 Oct 2009 23:40 GMT4
So, the position is that a lovely lady drove into the door of our 1995 3
series**. It's clearly repairable, but probably beyond economic repair -
it's still driveable for now. Hopefully her insurers will pay for the
damage.

Insurance cost for custom mods on a Ford Focus?29 Oct 2009 18:38 GMT12
Am looking to buy a used Ford Focus for about £3,000 to £4,000 to
use as a runabout. Most important is cost and reliability.
I've seen a few nice custom Focuses in owner's forums and the price
isn't about the same as a standard car. (I don't actually want
4 x 4 Rear Lights27 Oct 2009 19:25 GMT2
I find myself wondering why most (maybe all) 4 x 4's seem to have 2 pairs of
clusters of rear lights. Some at bumper level and some higher up.
Is it styling? Is it to make it easy to comply with regulations in different
markets?

UK Usenet Committee24 Oct 2009 22:23 GMT16
Quelle surprise. The trouble-making tossers who post to
uk.rec.psycholing are trying to whitewash the committee vote this year.
If you give a damn abut uk usenet it's a good idea to keep an eye on
uk.net.news.announce, and uk.net.news.management.

E34 BMW Bonnets..24 Oct 2009 19:12 GMT6
Are they all the same size? I've just got myself a lovely condition 520i
on a J plate. The one thing wrong with it is that the laquer on the
bonnet is peeling. Seems a shame, so I spotted this

Vaux Omega high mileage puzzle23 Oct 2009 07:47 GMT30
My mum needed a cheap estate car in a hurry, so I picked up an S reg
Omega 2.0 16 valve off eBay. No mileage listed, but there was a phone
number, so I called to check. 112 thousand, I was told.
I'd had a Carlton up to 270K once, so 112 wasn't a concern.
Jag XJ - Nice, or not?22 Oct 2009 11:43 GMT2
Saw one of these in the flesh on the M4 today.

I saw it in the mirror, couldn't work out what it was. Possibly some sort
of Maserati? Got alongside, *still* couldn't tell what it was. Was
Motoring offence costs go up - for not guilty21 Oct 2009 18:21 GMT2
Can't see any mention of this in here on my ISPs news server so apologies if
it's already been covered. Seems that new rules due to come into effect next
month will mean that you have to pay your own court costs if you're found
NOT guilty.
Car Insurance Question21 Oct 2009 17:03 GMT4
I was chatting with someone I know on a Forum and he mentioned that he
was working away one day soon for his work and using his own car and
getting mileage allowance .I asked him if he had told his insurance
company that he was using his car for business use and he said that
