Loose Jag IRS Diff Bolts(?)31 Oct 2005 22:47 GMT5
On my '84 XJ6 4.2 there's been quite a cluck when changing into reverse
- so figuring this must be loose diff bolts I've taken out the IRS
unit... The as removed, the diff doesn't seem very loose (although I'm
only human strength and it hangs from them) - any advice would be
Weird offer for buying a car.30 Oct 2005 00:21 GMT20
A friend wanted to sell a car, and announce it at scout24. He got a
weird message form an interested person, that I paste below.  I
smell a rat, but where is the trick?
Thanks.
Road racing or rally competition with the Jensen CV8 or 54129 Oct 2005 18:02 GMT8
Has anyone information about any history of the Jensen CV8 in road
racing or rally competition?
It is such a fast car, yet I am not aware of any! Please respond if you
do, with as much detail as possible.
Hood Repairers?29 Oct 2005 14:28 GMT8
The plastic rear quarter light on my double duck hood on my 1970 AH Sprite
IV has split.  Does anyone know of a reputable restorer that could insert a
new plastic panel - I am sure I have previously seen an advert in the MG
Owners Mag, but it is not in recent editions.
Ford Focus central locking problems29 Oct 2005 14:28 GMT6
2001 Focus 2.0 ESP. Every now and then when I'm driving the central locking
will click and the passenger door locks itself. Similarly, sometimes when I
plip the key to lock the car the passenger door doesn't. Any ideas why and
how easy is it to fix?
Ebay Adverts28 Oct 2005 13:38 GMT13
Hi everyone, hope you're all well.
On-line auctions, or even adverts in general; what do you think of them?
I'm doing some research into how people perceive on-line adverts
(particularly Ebay), the trustworthiness of sellers, what sort of ad's
How long is a piece of string?26 Oct 2005 13:13 GMT8
This is one of the best NGs ever but after my last post regarding my dynamo
it is obvious that some of you have too much time on your hands. I have
devised a problem to divert your excess creative energy:
I want to do the string thing on the steering wheel of my '36 MG but I've
Bits I cant find on my SD125 Oct 2005 19:44 GMT6
The braking is going well, engine and box came out quite well, a
serious of happy coincidences meant I was able to find just the right
person with just the right bit of kit at just the right time to get it
all to my garage and onto the stand tonight. I could not however find
First cars: Would you want to own it again?24 Oct 2005 16:29 GMT77
I noticed the post about the Marina, and I thought about my first cars.
You can't really go back of course, but my first proper, driving around
on the road legally car was a 1984 Chevette L 4dr.
It was totally rust-free, had 70,000 miles on it and ran like no other
Jaguar in the UK24 Oct 2005 16:23 GMT6
As it is time to purchase a new automobile, I've been looking at various
Jaguar models (XJ8..specifically).  I've never owned a Jaguar, and am
reluctant to make a purchase given the reliability indicators of all models.
I am curious as to how Jaguar ranks in the UK?  Is it giving ...

Any way to find current registration of a vehicle?22 Oct 2005 21:18 GMT10
My Father bought a Mercedes W123 new, and it was registered as UFX30X.
About 2 years later it was re-registered as TJT41.  On sale of the car
in the mid '80s TJT41 was removed and the vehicle given a new
registration number that started and ended with an X.  Is there any
Don't worry Gromit, everything's under control22 Oct 2005 14:22 GMT14
Just been to see The Curse of the Were-Rabbit (yes I know, I need to get a
life). The most impressive bit is the remarkably authentic A35 van. They
even got the handling spot on - lurid tail slides, vomit-inducing roll, and
extremely rabbit-like axle bouncing. Not only that, but ...
Value of low mileage Austin Healy Bugeye Sprite?22 Oct 2005 14:17 GMT9
Can anyone advise on what a Austin Healy Bugeye Sprint with only 4270km on
it might be worth in the UK. Fairly good condition with a reasonable
interior.
Sorry but not much more information as it's in an auction in Japan.
