Advice re attaching Traveller to trailer, for long journey!30 Aug 2006 13:36 GMT17
Hi.  I have a Minor Traveller which is five hundred miles away, and
needs to be moved.  Just acquired a trailer, which is a caravan
conversion - the trailer bed is just flat wood.  How best to attach the
Traveller, for a journey from Hertfordshire to Aberdeenshire?
How to tell whether a car is pos or neg earth?29 Aug 2006 01:24 GMT10
Hi.  How can I tell whether my car is wired positive or negative earth?
There is no battery, and the new battery would easily fit either way
round - the leads are long enough.  The car left the factory positive
earth, but could have been changed.  No, no radio either.
Traffic Lamp Reflector ??26 Aug 2006 00:32 GMT1
I recently found in my old man's garage a black and yellow cardboard box
from Ford containing a "traffic lamp reflector". It's a kind of glass lens
in a metal frame, about 5 by 8 centimeters, somewhat similar to a magnifying
glass, but it actually downsizes what you see.

Timing ford 1100 cross flow engine?22 Aug 2006 06:02 GMT1
I am about to do some work on a 1100 cc cross flow engine (in a  1971

Does anyone have the correct static timing for this engine? I realise that
the marina version timing might be different from the car version but ...
MGB heater Valve21 Aug 2006 08:10 GMT1
I've just replaced the heater valve on my 1975 MGB Roadster which was
previously jammed open and very hot!  However I now find that the
heater works but with no hot air.  I presume there is an airlock
somewhere in the system.  Very simply, whats the best way to get rid of

gallons). Fuel tank spec says it's 9.9US gallons.
Looks like my fuel tank sending unit's a bit pessemistic. I hear a
Repair to a capillary thermometer17 Aug 2006 19:22 GMT4
My four year old Smith's (Holden) capillary water temperature gauge
has slowly subsided over the last couple of weeks, so that it now
thinks water boils (near sea level!) at 35 degrees centigrade. Does
anyone know of a company who can repair them, or do I just lob Holden
