| Capri parts (Conor?) | 29 Jul 2008 21:23 GMT | 8 |
Any suggestions for good sources of Capri spares? Particularly body panels. We've finally got round to starting the restoration of ours!

| Fiat 124 Spider 1972 | 29 Jul 2008 20:42 GMT | 10 |
I'm asking for a friend of mine - a new owner of this model. 1600 motor, Weber carbs, points ignition, manual choke. The car refuses to start on the self starter when warm. If pushed it'll start right away. He's changed the starter motor to no avail.

| Ashover Show - 20th July 2008 | 21 Jul 2008 17:01 GMT | 1 |
A reminder to anyone within striking distance that the Ashover Classic Car show takes place on Sunday 20th July. It used to be organised by the Vintage Austin Register, though I noticed

I have observed white- green crystalline fur around the positive terminal of the battery in my car. Does anyone know what it is, and how it gets there? thanks

| Ashtray wanted | 15 Jul 2008 15:01 GMT | 7 |
I'm looking for an ashtray to fit a 1966 E-Type; in view of William Lyons' reluctance to spend money I'm sure it was an off-the-shelf part rather than specifically designed for that particular car, so probably appeared in various othe cars of that period.

| Another car, another problem | 12 Jul 2008 08:40 GMT | 69 |
I have just taken possession of a Minor 1000. It started first time and I drove home (about 10 miles) with no problems at all. I switched off the engine to use the keys to lock the boot, then started it up to park it a bit more tidily.

| Electric fuel pump recommendation | 11 Jul 2008 23:28 GMT | 9 |
Folks, I need to replace the electric fuel pump on the DS. It's non-original: fitted by the last owner in South Africa to refill the carb after long periods of standing in the hot sun of KwaZulu Natal and now jolly

| Vinyl roof for SP250 | 11 Jul 2008 19:03 GMT | 1 |
Been away, just catching up, managed to lose all messages. Therefore going from memory. I hate Bill Gates. As I recall the OP (or his local trimmer) was worried about fitting to compound curves Some years ago I helped a friend with a rolling

| Vinyl roof supplier | 09 Jul 2008 16:11 GMT | 39 |
A pal of mine has a Daimler Dart (SP250) with a rather scruffy hard top. He's been wondering what to do with it, and is now thinking of a vinyl covering. OK, it's dangerously reminiscent of spivvy Mark 2 Jags of the 60's and crappy Hillmans from the 70's, but in this case I

| Jim's Problem Minor | 09 Jul 2008 00:58 GMT | 4 |
I was giving this some thought on a long drive (Dumfries to Wensleydale and back) and here's what I came up with ... To run, a nice simple old engine like the Minor's needs ... a) Compression

| Q about Triumph Spitfire Tacho | 08 Jul 2008 16:42 GMT | 3 |
I'm in the process of fixing a few things in my '78 Spitfire and I'm having problems removing the tachometer. The question is: how do you remove the last of the 3 cables plugged behind the tacho, as shown below? I tried unscrewing the metal socket

| New car, new problem | 05 Jul 2008 11:59 GMT | 4 |
Sorry, deleted original thread about the Minor cutting out or not starting when warm. My money is on the petrol filler cap. Had exactly the same problem years ago. Blamed the fuel pump initially, as it was seriously hot and famously

| Painting garage floor. | 04 Jul 2008 11:04 GMT | 6 |
I'm in the process of building a wood garage for my 1948 Vauxhall 14 and had the raft power floated to get a nice smooth surface. I intend doing the floor with floor paint but after googling "Floor Paint" I find that the majority of manufacturers don't recommend using paint on a ...

| Keeping the water out... leak sealer ?? | 04 Jul 2008 10:39 GMT | 5 |
Does anybody know if there's a leak-sealing product that can be used on older cars to keep the rain _outside- rather than letting it find its way _inside_ ?? My '64 Morris Traveller has one or two little places where persistent
