My gremlins are back30 Apr 2009 23:05 GMT30
After I bought my Minor 1000, I had a lot of trouble because it wouldn't
start when hot.  I thought I had fixed it, it has been starting first
time and I have been driving around happily for nearly a year.  Until
yesterday.
Are Mountney/Astrali steering wheels interchangeable?28 Apr 2009 22:45 GMT8
As per the subject. I have an 11" Astrali but I'm struggling to turn it and
want to go to 13". There seems plenty of choice on Ebay, but I'm wondering
if those 6 small holes and the large centre hole will line up? (I want to
leave the boss in place).
1965 for seatbelts, but 3 point fixing?27 Apr 2009 17:22 GMT14
I believe 1965 was when fitting seatbelts in the front was made compulsary
for new cars. Was it 3 point fixing from the start - or were some cars
fitted with lap straps only? If so when did 3 point fixing become
compulsary?
Borderline classic - BMW 520i E2827 Apr 2009 16:52 GMT7
Not sure what to do with this...
I've lumbered myself with sorting out and disposing of my
father-in-law's 1984 BMW. It belonged to his father from almost new and
has only done 48,000 miles, but has been standing for the last 5 years.

VW auto transmission - no drive18 Apr 2009 10:14 GMT23
I've had the engine out of my 79 VW camper to redo the oil seals.
Whilst out I also removed the torque converter of the automatic
transmission and did the seal in that too.
Now on reassembly, I have no drive.  The torque converter has been

MK1 Transit carburettor07 Apr 2009 15:40 GMT8
I have a 1700cc Transit which needs a new carb urgently in order to move it.
The mounting flange seems the same as a range of carbs fitted to Fords but I
was wondering if the Ford VV would fit, before I get one?
Any further suggestions without spending to much money!!??
