Reading in the news today about the Royal Mail Chief Executive apologising for the poor service delivery of his business, and reading about industry watchdog "Postwatch" and regulator "Postcomm", I wondered if anyone knows if there are equivalent organisations in existence to ...

| MPG mystery | 26 Apr 2004 09:30 GMT | 19 |
Whilst in an Audi A6 last night I noticed that at 0mph, the car's fuel computer indicated 101.0mpg. How does it work that out then? Given such economy, I think that I will start to travel at 0mph more often if I can cover 101 miles using just 1 gallon. Unless I am in a hurry, of

| commuting by car | 25 Apr 2004 22:39 GMT | 58 |
Do people enjoy commuting by car? Given the increase in peak hour car use over the last twenty years or so it's pretty obvious they must. Either that or they're too daft to live close to their work or vice versa

| Cumbria speed limits | 25 Apr 2004 15:42 GMT | 18 |
Just had a couple of very enjoyable days in the Lakes. Am I the only one who thinks that Cumbria have got it all wrong where speed limits are concerned? A blanket 40 limit on an entirely rural B road (Crook to Bowness), an extended 30 area between Gramere and Windermere where there ...

| Brick thrower get 6 years for lorry drivers death | 23 Apr 2004 00:30 GMT | 15 |
Looks like they couldn't prove intent to cause serious harm necessary for the murder charge, and gave him 6 years for manslaughter when they could have given life. Pathetic imo - Brick thrower jailed over death

| Road Angel detector | 22 Apr 2004 19:19 GMT | 146 |
I've recently bought a Road Angel and noticed that it doesn't pick up Gatsos when they're on the other side of the road, even though I've seen cars get caught heading in this direction. Is it supposed to warn you? Thanks

| Real Story tonight on BBC1. | 22 Apr 2004 17:35 GMT | 38 |
Comments? It was nice to know that 1 in 10 of you are uninsured. THe only accident they showed involving a HGV was where some tit had been overtaking and run into the front of the lorry.

My son has just started driving lessons and has started thinking about his first car. Cheapest quote he has had is £1500 on a 1993 clio! He came up with the idea of me insuring the car with him as a named driver. Doing it this way, the insurance is £1000 cheaper, but how will it ...
