How many people can you get into a Citreon Xsara?31 May 2005 13:26 GMT23
Some woman in Oxford thought she could get eight (including herself).
Suppose that will invalidate her insurance and when (if) she finally gets
out of hospital she'll no doubt be done for dangerous and reckless driving
and possibly more (manslaughter?).
Grass track endurance racing as seen on top gear?31 May 2005 08:32 GMT2
Does anyone know of any organised grass track events like the one on Top
Gear last night?
Looks like it could be a fun way of disposing of old cars that aren't really
good enough to sell on.

One less to cause mayhem on the road and force everyone else out of his way.

Night driving - stopping distance on dipped headlights30 May 2005 16:19 GMT56
The comments in the drunk walker head have me wondering whether I
should reconsider my driving style. The basic issue I have is that I'm
pretty sure I can't stop within  the distance I can see to be clear
when I'm using dipped headlights at night in unlit areas traveling at
Euro Car Parks29 May 2005 15:35 GMT19
Having not read the sign properly at a Euro car park I found a ticket on the
car on return.
They say I have to pay £30 within 21 days or they may find my details from
DVLC and it wil cost me £50
Cycle hits car...28 May 2005 21:03 GMT86
If a cyclist hits a car that's turning left across his path, is it always
the car driver's fault?

Bad parking spaces!28 May 2005 20:00 GMT17
I spent a while today struggling to straighten up in a parking space.
I was getting really confused...  When I got out I found the problem.
The parking space lines aren't parallel (//), so there was no way I
could be // to both lines.  The lines were going to a point.  It's so
M4 cameras28 May 2005 16:03 GMT3
Just for those who may be slowing for the overbridge safety camera locations
in Wiltshire then speeding up again; this morning a marked patrol car on the
hard should (some ways from the aforementioned locations) was happily
filming people who thought they were safe.... oops...
Spectacular old duffer driving today.28 May 2005 15:30 GMT31
Followed an "elderly" couple in their Metro out towards the A1(M) today.
Pottered along the NSL SC at around 37, but hey ho. Then I groaned as they
headed down the sliproad with me following.
Acceleration was gravity only (I think we were doing around 42 at the
Worst ever!27 May 2005 18:30 GMT2
I can't believe what I just experienced!  The traffic was terrible
today, ques everywhere.  I come to a mini roundabout, and start queing.
I watch the cars come past as the one in front is looking for a gap,
and there's a constant flow.  The vehicle from behind toots his horn,

National Speed Limit Country Winding Roads27 May 2005 14:35 GMT38
The ex-wife is taking driving lessons and her intructor took her on a
winding quite narrow country road. She (the instructor) told the ex that
this road has the national speed limit so "she must stay above 40mph".
The ex did find this quite scary and unsettling but did as she was
Should over 70's have to retake their driving test?26 May 2005 18:29 GMT65
Trevor McDonut was on about that last night. Lots of stories of people who
had been knocked over, of course plenty of people get knocked over by under
70's too. So should they be made to take their test again or would taking
driving licences away turn them into Doug?!
