M60 widening30 Jun 2005 21:30 GMT11
I've been travelling around the south-western part of the M60 quite a bit
recently, where there are 4-5 miles of ongoing work, changing junctions and
adding lanes.  However, the spanking new bridge over the A56 at Sale
*appears*... to still be carrying just two lanes clockwise !  ...

Im trading my car in at a dealers next week but it needs taxing today.
Not sure if i should tax and get a refund (losing a months money i

I expect to get replies saying that its the law that i need to tax the
Driving standards30 Jun 2005 13:20 GMT12
I have been completely shocked, and have learnt a lot this week.  I
always thought that my family were bad at driving, but everybody I see
seem to be worse.  Just when I think I've found the worlds worst driver
I find somebody even worse.

Hi,
I'm heading from Darlington down the M1 to London next week, and have
heard 'scare' stories about speed cameras, lasers etc.
Is it really so bad? Should i invest in a gps type system with
brake gear overlapping29 Jun 2005 16:44 GMT6
There is an interesting article here :

It made me realise that I was trying this method on
a corner that is down hill .....

AA atlas with speed cameras28 Jun 2005 21:30 GMT36
This years AA atlas has the locations of all fixed speed camera sites
included for the first time.
Clearly as speed cameras are only used at accident black spots [1] then this
serves as a useful warning to drivers that the road ahead may be more
Was I in the wrong (acain)?28 Jun 2005 09:10 GMT23
OK, the situation was this: roundabout, with me at "6 o'clock" and (for
some reason) traffic queuing across from "3 o'clock" to "9 o'clock".
I wanted to get to exit at "12 o'clock", but my way is blocked by
traffic in front of me, especially those more hapless drivers who
Removing a speed limit, once the reason for it no longer exists27 Jun 2005 23:21 GMT3
For some time on the A431 "upper" Bristol to Bath road, at Kelston,
there has been a 30mph limit on either side of a light-controlled
junction for access to a construction site.
This was fair enough: going west and down the hill, the previous 60mph
Accident blackspot programme27 Jun 2005 22:21 GMT3
Watched it on TV last night. It was looking at a village on the A47 east of
Peterborough where lots of pedestrians are getting run down. My pet hate
with these programmes is the way they concentrate on the vehicles but make
no mention of how pedestrians can make a difference.

possible)! My maps are out of date and Sat ...
