Some fine driving24 Jun 2005 14:02 GMT11
Going north this morning on A605 in Northants at Throrpe Waterville. At the
speed camera (40mph zone) a SUV going south decides to overtake the car in
front of him. Problem is I'm only about a 100 feet away. I hit the brakes
cause I'm worried he won't make it back in his lane. He ...
Speed cameras (oh no, not again)23 Jun 2005 13:13 GMT30
I only started to watch this group recently when I come across it while
looking for something else. Speed enforcement seems to be one of the most
frequently and ferociously debated issues. Seems strange, if an accident is
going to happen, the severity is of course, going to be ...
Posting Documents23 Jun 2005 10:24 GMT8
One of the side issues on the SORN thread made me wonder why things like
notification of a speeding fine are not sent by recorded delivery. If it
went missing in the post and you didn't respond, would you get a
reminder, or would Her Maj's finest come round at two in the morning, ...

Real Story, BBC23 Jun 2005 09:33 GMT11
Real story was an interesting documentary on how roads in bad condition
can affect safety. Several of the incidents seemed to indicate that bad
driving was also a contributing factor, but the programme seem to be
suggesting it was totally the roads fault.
Now that was a close one.23 Jun 2005 09:20 GMT13
Anyone familiar with Burnt Tree Island in the West Midlands? Nasty
little, tight island with lots and lots of usage and with 5 exits too,
I've never seen it have an 'easy period', it really needs lane markings
on the island itself and possibly traffic lights at peak times.
Car crime doesn't pay23 Jun 2005 07:37 GMT19
This was sent by a Police Officer in Southern California!
This fine upstanding member, of the infamous ! 18th street LA gang, decided
one day that he would try to car-jack a semi truck at gun point. The
gangster jumped up on the driver side, while the truck was in motion, and

Was about the state of our roads and how people had skidded/crashed off.
What really made me mad was the 18-year old girl who had done an "advanced
driving course" managed to skid off on flood water and crash.  She then ...
Rail 'congestion charge' proposed22 Jun 2005 20:29 GMT11
So we're priced off the roads and onto trains, but that's making the
trains too busy so we're going to be priced out of trains.
We're going to be charged more for driving at busy times and for
travelling on the train at busy times.
DHL Maniac!22 Jun 2005 20:02 GMT12
Almost got rammed by him today, and can't believe how he was driving
:-o
Saw him initially two cars behind me.  Noticed that there was a max of
1 cars length between him and the Micra in front.  We were doing a

My contender:
A702 Biggar - Edinburgh road. Village of Coulter, about five miles
after Biggar as you head south. They have just installed these
speed-triggered warning signs - approach them at 30+ and they flash a

Traffic - m25 - m421 Jun 2005 22:35 GMT35
Might be making a journey today (friday about 5/6/7 pm)
will most likely be M3 - M25 - M4 - A406
What will the traffic be like at this sort of time? Friday afternoon people
going home from work??? Am I gonna be stuck in traffic for ages? Be better
Bad designs21 Jun 2005 18:37 GMT7
Some of the lights on cars are too hard to see these days.  I saw a
fairly new Porche 4x4 a few days ago at a junction, but couldn't see a
signal.  As he pulled out I managed to see it.  They are actually on
the front more than they are on the side of the vehicle.  From an angle
