about "new road layout" signs27 Jul 2005 00:24 GMT4
I am just curious...... when major alterations are made to  lets say a
roundabout........they put up those signs saying                  """"" NEW
ROAD LAYOUT""""". . . I was just wondering how long these signs stay up
before  whoever decides it is no longer new enough to merit a ...
They must be giving cyclists licences26 Jul 2005 17:43 GMT7
to ride motor bikes now. I was stopped at a red light (first car) with my right
indicator on when a Honda touring bike pulls up along my right side, "expecting
to get away from the lights first" I think, then he stops puts his foot down and
then rides on through the red light.  ...
Spotted in the Chester Chronicle25 Jul 2005 23:08 GMT6
I was reading the Chester Chronicle motoring section this morning, and it
had a bit in it about Fleet drivers.
Apparently, BRAKE do a "Fleet Safety Forum News", and said that 1 in 6
Fleet drivers have 3 or more points, which is a strong predictor of
V11 form25 Jul 2005 19:05 GMT10
Just got back from renewing my tax disc at the Post Office,
and I notice they seem to have given me back the V11.
Aren't they supposed to keep that, and will it matter if
they didn't?
Insuring an extra car25 Jul 2005 17:02 GMT20
I have some no claims on my Hyundai, i'm buying my current lease
car, which will be more expensive to insure. So ideally I want my
no claims on the BMW and start again on the Hyundai. I wondering
how insurance company will view that, will they happily do what I

...my sympathies.
At 3am this morning, the M5 was absolutely chocka at Tewkabury with
cars going towards the S.W. I hate to think how bad it was by 8am. The
M5 was as busy as it was during the daytime all the way up to the M42.
Insurance write-off quote...24 Jul 2005 10:46 GMT10
Hi all, I'm currently disputing a seemingly low insurance payout for my
written off car. I was just wondering if anyone out there has a copy of
Glass's guide and could price up a 1996 (P) Vauxhall Astra Estate 1.6l
CDX with all the trimmings and genuinely in immaculate condition. ...
Bad temporary road signs23 Jul 2005 21:51 GMT7
When I was arriving at work today there were signs along the roads work
workmen.  Then there was a 'road narrows' sign, I was looking for a
hole in the road, but there wasn't one!  Workmen had dug a hole in the
pavement, but nothing in the road.  This is the 2nd time I've seen this
120mph on the A1M - what's the damage?23 Jul 2005 15:00 GMT133
Hi - I got pulled up for this today, they followed me at this speed for
half a mile before I noticed them.  I touched 130mph at one point but I
don't think he's reporting that.  Spending today eating large slices of
humble pie.
Insurance - Which Company22 Jul 2005 22:22 GMT51
Been with Endsliegh for 1 year. Norwich Union offers a lower quote.
The guy at Endsliegh told me why they are a better company than NU - they
have local offices and I wont have to deal with large call centres where
stuff may take ages to sort out - I havent had any problems with ...
Police van/lights.22 Jul 2005 20:58 GMT5
Driving along this morning, saw a police van speeding
in the opposite direction, blue lights flashing on top.
Glancing in the mirror as it passed, I saw flashing
*red* lights. Is this new? Is it "legal"?
Safety Cameras in Surrey22 Jul 2005 20:31 GMT51
Probably too late for most of you, but keep alert if you intend to pass
Godalming on the A3. Between Thursley and Hurtmore there is an
installation of cameras on the overbridge. This seems to be both speed
cameras And ANPR because there are many police bikes and a "portable
Accident statistics for a particular stretch of road.22 Jul 2005 19:06 GMT8
How do I find "accident" details for a particular stretch of road? The
police? The council? Any ideas?
Blackberry22 Jul 2005 09:45 GMT5
If phone drivers weren't bad enough, I spotted a woman using her Blackberry
while driving last Monday morning. She was headed southbound on the M6 near
Preston, and was checking her email or whatever while cruising in lane 2. It
was also raining...
Mobile Speed Camera signage.21 Jul 2005 20:38 GMT26
This has probably been asked before but can I ask your advice about this please.
My car was travelling from point A to point C. At point B my car was clocked as doing 37 in a 30 limit by a mobile camera van. This van was located on another road off the road on which my car was ...
