A little while ago I crashed into a lorry on a roundabout. For some reason a few posters on this NG immediately jumped to the conclusion that it was somehow my fault. I am greatly happy to say the other parties insurance company have now accepted that

According to this report ( http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk/4636913.stm ), road deaths in the UK reached an all time low since records began in 1926. Maybe speed cameras and lowered speed limits are working to reduce carnage on the roads?

A43 will be closed to ALL through traffic from 0400-2100 from Friday to Sunday from the M40 to the M1. This is so that the selfish twats going to see the British Grand Prix don't have to queue as long.

On more than one occasion I've seen little slip roads on and off motorways other than the usual junctions. Some of these are obviously entrances to works yards but others appear to allow emergency services access to the motorways without having to travel

I was driving south in L3 of the three lane Hudderfield Road, the road which links Halifax to Huddersfield - going from Halifax towards Huddersfield. Just after the road emerges from the massive single span arch under the M62, I slowed down and prepared to stop as the road dips

Just a couple of speed camera questions... Just wondered why the white lines on the road by the speed cameras (yellow box variety on pole), have the white line *behind* the camera? Ok there are 3 narrowly spaced lines in front of them/it but many more behind.

Note the interesting part about the average speed of cars being 48MPH on a SC A road with no restrictions. The Office of National Statistics has released figures today showing that almost 78% of Heavy Goods Vehicles exceed the speed limit on roads
