| So what's next? | 14 Jul 2005 15:10 GMT | 16 |
Mark Hewitt's response to the longest speedtrap in Britain thread was :-
> Before long these will be standard along all entire road network, then the > speeding problem will be 'solved'. This got me thinking. If they "solve" the speeding "problem" then where do

| driver training the Gorden Ramsey way. | 13 Jul 2005 19:19 GMT | 4 |
I was watching "Kitchen Nightmares" on TV last night, and spent most of the time giggling at the excellent no nonsense Gorden Ramsey approach. I started to think of opening a driving school using the same techniques. "COME ON! You've been driving for 30 years you should be good at ...

| One for the IAM boys | 11 Jul 2005 21:42 GMT | 10 |
I saw a beautiful example of the difference between normal and IAM (as described here) driving on the A75 the other day. I was in a queue of cars following a lorry doing 56 or so. Twistyish bit of road, so no real chances to overtake - and anyway, there are

| Starting the car | 11 Jul 2005 19:09 GMT | 15 |
Reading another post it was mentioned it might be better starting the car with the clutch down. I do this anyway... What happens if you start with the car in first gear? (with the clutch down)

| So here we go.... | 11 Jul 2005 00:22 GMT | 80 |
Well...its summer (allegedly). Since I've changed job recently I took the car to work as usual but since it was costing me about £30 a week in petrol I decided to buy a bike from a friend. I bought this Honda CB250R for £180 (its 25 yrs old) with no tax nor MOT. It needed a ...

| Gridlock on TV | 10 Jul 2005 23:18 GMT | 16 |
Programme described the events in Herts/Cambs/Essex a couple of years ago when heavy snow disrupted traffic. I remember it well. All day I was warning people at work to leave early because of the approaching snow, yet they all left normal time and got

| Getting though Strasbourg ... Help! | 10 Jul 2005 14:53 GMT | 3 |
I'll be driving from Reims to Basel shortly and wondered if anyone had any advice on how best to avoid getting stuck in traffic around Strasbourg ... the only route that doesn't avoid either national or depertmental local roads seems to be to go through the city itself,
