Are Audi A4's (old model) easy to clock?05 Jul 2005 23:19 GMT5
I am considering buying an Audi A4 (1998 model) which has 91,000 miles
on the clock.  The service history seems to tie in with the mileage,
but I thought I would check here how easy it is to adjust the mileage
on that model of car?

If two people on Third party have a crash, what are the various
scenarios that occur mainly focusing on what one party could do that
would affect the insurance cost of the others?
My understanding of it is they pay for the damage done to the other
The single track road meet!05 Jul 2005 09:55 GMT20
Just back from the annual hols in Wales and Eire.
Whilst seeking out a caravan site (Anglesy) on a narrow twisty single
track road with only a rare passing place and lots of bends, I came
face to face with an elderly driver in a P 306. Obviously with a 16ft

Do they breed 'em stupid in Yorkshire?04 Jul 2005 16:59 GMT6
OK, I admit, not all Yorkshire folk are stupid (no more than anywhere else
:-), and I have no evidence that the perpetrators below are Yorkshiremen,
but 2 incidents within a few miles while driving through the county at the
weekend prompted this post.
What a bummer!04 Jul 2005 15:36 GMT85
Totally off topic but I've had a hell of a day. My PC has been playing up
just lately - closing down and re-booting all on it's own. Spoke to Evesham
tech support and they suggested a hard disk problem and recommended a
re-format and complete windows re-install.

STOPPING PEOPLE FOR SPEEDING AND FIXED CAMERA'S ON THE SIDE OF THE ROAD ARE
A MASSIVE SOURCE OF INCOME FOR THE POLICE, AND IT DOES SEEM THAT IT'S
GETTING OUT OF HAND. YOU CAN GET FLASHED BY A CAMERA 4 TIMES IN 3 YEARS OR 4
TIMES IN A DAY AND THEN LOSE YOUR LICENCE FOR A YEAR AND ...

Learn to drive!04 Jul 2005 12:13 GMT49
I annoyed now, I've got a scratch along the top of my car which starts
at one end, and finishes at the other end.  It's all because of some
stupid Jaguar driver who couldn't drive!

I thought my brakes had a problem today.  I came to a stop, and when I
tried pulling away slowly it was really hard to move, and the engine
was trying to labour.  I checked the handbrake, and decided that the
brakes must be stuck.  I pulled away again, and it was still just as

Are they slipstreaming or just thick?03 Jul 2005 18:48 GMT7
Every time I use a motorway, I am often struck by the number of people who sit
in lane 1 about one or two car's lengths from the arse end of a lorry at 50mph.
Very often the vehicle is a garden shed variety Nissan,  Honda or Volvo, usually
with a white-haired driver.  Personally I ...
Insurance rip off!03 Jul 2005 12:07 GMT24
I'm really annoyed with my insurance company.  I wanted to add cover
for a few miles of business use.  I got a quote for 200 miles/year (yes
200, not 2000).  My current policy is a student one, and they said I
couldn't add business usage to the policy to it because I'm not a
