THINK! Don't Dazzle17 Nov 2005 10:45 GMT40
With the clocks going back this weekend can I ask drivers to please
turn off their headlights when they are stationary. Especially when
they are picking uo or dropping off their children. It is illegal to
park on the wrong side of the road at night and the headlights of a car

AA Instructors16 Nov 2005 22:01 GMT21
THE AA say a 10 hour week with 5 weeks holiday should bring in £40,000 plus
per year. Obviously this is gross, so approx what would be the net figure
after costs?
Just looking into options if IT gets on my nerves!
M6 SPECS Installations16 Nov 2005 21:57 GMT16
I drove down the M6 from Carlisle to Birmingham last week and
encountered the SPECS setups at roadworks. Boy, talk about effective!
I was wondering, though, how the system works. The general scheme
seemed to be two cameras fairly close together at the start of the
I went solo!16 Nov 2005 21:56 GMT33
Off topic, but after my third circuit yesterday the instructor said I was
ready and he was getting out! Incredible feeling of being alone in the
circuit - the approach and landing was the most concentration I have ever
experienced!

Just how are this generation of kids supposed to learn to spell correctly

Black Circles - tyres online15 Nov 2005 20:39 GMT6
I ordered a pair of tyres from http://www.blackcircles.com/
last Friday. The fully fitted price was very competitive with local fitters.
The nearest contracted fitter was a mobile franchise and I was given a wide
choice of fitting dates with either an a.m. or p.m. appointment. I ...
A Celebration of My Ennoblement!15 Nov 2005 11:09 GMT8
Greetings to my subjects!
The news arrived this morning by telephone from Tony Blair himself that
he has awarded me a prestigious nobility in gracious thanks for the large
cheques I have forwarded the Labour Party in recent years.
Five die in joyride car15 Nov 2005 11:05 GMT252
Five teenagers died yesterday when they crashed a stolen car at 100 mph
(Metro? 100mph?) while being followed by police.
Friends said the three boys and two girls - aged between 13 and 16 - had
been drinking vodka, cider and lager in a graveyard before stealing a Rover
Bloody M25... missed my Sunday lunch15 Nov 2005 09:16 GMT28
WTF was going on between junctions 8 & 10 of the
M25 anticlockwise at midday today? The whole
carriageway was closed, I was stuck in a stationary
queue for an hour and a half, and my Sunday lunch
It's frightening!15 Nov 2005 09:10 GMT56
The survey also revealed how:
a.. More than half of UK motorists have not checked their tyre pressure in
the last month
b.. One in five people never check the tread depth of their tyres
Slow, not necessarily safer!15 Nov 2005 08:43 GMT15
Following (and rather desparate to pass) a slowly driven car by a
female. Lack of overtaking opportunities due to bends and unfamiliarity
with the road, mean I hang well back.
She enters the bends speed unabated, making no attempt to take a proper
What lights are these?14 Nov 2005 15:53 GMT3
I've been seeing lots cars with dazzling lights (on the front) which I
thought were fog lights, but I'm having my doubts now.
I saw a driving instructor with some on today, it appeared to be
standard side lights, plus some other dazzling ones.  However on these
