RoSPA - second drive21 Dec 2005 14:38 GMT4
Second drive with RoSPA yesterday (Sunday). It was described by the
observer as "flawless", and there was nothing more to be taught. She said
the two drives were just a brush up to the test pass 3 years ago with the
IAM. She said she was encouraged that I had maintained a high ...
This Morning21 Dec 2005 10:40 GMT386
This is not from me, it's from an (anonymous) friend of mine.
I have pointed out to him (on this and numerous previous occasions) that
he really is his own worst enemy - he is an expert at putting people's
backs up...
Fake speed limit signs...21 Dec 2005 08:28 GMT22
Near me there is a country lane which passes through a cluster of about 6
houses, all of which have hedges/walls/fences between them and the NSL road.
They've recently put up signs eitehr end of the cluster (hamlet?) with a 6"
round white disc with '30' on it and a 'Drive ...

ginormous load on the M520 Dec 2005 15:50 GMT8
huge load, about the size of a three bedroom detached house. totally enclosed
in plywood and straddling two lanes and the hard shoulder. it was on a massive
three piece bogey of which the rear third seemed to be controlled by huge
hydraulic rams. the whole rig was about 100' long ...

Is this the beginning of the end for speed cameras? What will poor hard done
by car drivers find to whinge about instead?

Is there such a thing..19 Dec 2005 21:46 GMT8

quite miss it.

Half heard news report...19 Dec 2005 14:25 GMT109
On the way home I heard a news report - (half heard more like as I was
concentrating on my driving...)
1200 lorries stopped and checked today in some sort of operation..
2 men arrested on suspicion of armed robbery, quite a few illegal
Good riddance to my Citroen C519 Dec 2005 03:30 GMT37
In June 2002 I bought a new Citroen C5.  Under its 3 year warranty it had
to have 16 separate warranty repairs despite only covering 22,000.  2 weeks
before the warranty run out a bottle wash sensor went faulty for the second
time. This would bring up the service light on the ...
Stupidity - and instant justice.19 Dec 2005 01:07 GMT37
Driving to Warrington this afternoon along the A49 and arrived at Junction
10 on the M56 at about 3.15 pm - just minutes after a head-on smash on the
motorway roundabout. It appears that two scouse shoplifters had been pursued
by Warrington police officers South along the A49. ...
would you take a driving lesson from this guy?18 Dec 2005 20:58 GMT13
In Lane 2 on M8 this morning about Jn 11. In lane one (which was merging) I
looked down into the drivers window of a learner car and saw the instructor
reading a map and texting on his mobile.
Fantastic example.
Be glad we don't drive in Morocco.18 Dec 2005 18:44 GMT4
Standard policy on the equivalent of NSL, dual carriageway road is,
"drive your renault 4, R5, Non turbo Pug 205 diesel straight down the
white centre divider, straddling both lanes at 30mph, if challenged from
behind, make sure the vehicle is bigger (coach, cattle truck, trans-
Taxi Drivers18 Dec 2005 17:38 GMT17
I had a lift from one a couple of days ago, and couldn't believe how
the driver drove.  I've seen them drive bad, but I had just assumed
that it was mostly when they didn't have passengers.  This driver was
braking the law badly, driving far too fast, braking VERY harshly,
