Outside lane seige numpties22 Feb 2006 01:01 GMT108
Over a distance of seven miles travelling home today, I was confronted
with no less than three car drivers laying seige to the outside lane,
as in - nothing ahead of them for a good half mile in either lane and
trundling along several mph below the limit.

Car is a 1998 Fiesta Si 1.25.

J14 M5 traffic lights20 Feb 2006 14:28 GMT6
Anyone commute via Junction 14 on the M5? I use this every day to join
the M5 and travel north . Last year traffic lights were installed and
the effect caused utter caos on the surrounding roads. After about a
month the lights were turned off.

Embarassed...20 Feb 2006 09:20 GMT27
Earlier tonight I found myself visiting a house down a narrow dead end
street. Did what I went for (collecting some free stuff found via
freecycle.org, plug plug) then got back in the car.
There was a learner doing a twenty seven point turn and bouncing off the
SMIDSY advert cheaters...19 Feb 2006 19:55 GMT82
There's an advert on at the moment telling you to watch out for bikes -
shows a car pulling up to a junction, looking, pulling out and getting hit
in the side by a bike.
Then it shows the initial shot again, so you can see how easy it was to miss
M25 congestion query19 Feb 2006 13:48 GMT3
Could anyone tell me what the traffic is like on the M25 between the A3 and
the M40 during the evening rush hour now that the long term roadworks have
finished? I have to travel from Holmbury St Mary to Manchester at around
5:30pm next Friday and I was wondering if it would be ...
If I was a car theif...19 Feb 2006 00:12 GMT25
If I was a car theif I would have stolen the easiest car ever, just by
opening the door and drive off.  As about 20 mins went over the shop to get
a paper and there wasa car outside, lights on, engine running and no-one was
in the car.  I went in got the paper and came out car ...

Shortcut Rant18 Feb 2006 18:12 GMT12
The dictionary defines a shortcut as
1. A more direct route than the customary one.
2. A means of saving time or effort.
My daily commute involves using lots of busy roads, I have found lots
Big camera on toll booths Forth Road Bridge17 Feb 2006 19:11 GMT13
Anyone know what the big camera is that has been placed on the new "plaza"
at the tollbooths coming from the A90 from Barnton? It stares right at you
as you come into the toll booth lanes. I haven't seen any publicity for it
anywhere. I'm tempted to rip off my tax disk and smear ...
Driving for 2 years, but 3 years no claims discount??17 Feb 2006 16:20 GMT4
I'm just about to renew my insurance, and my insurer (CIS) just told me
I have 3 years no claims bonus.  That's nice, because I've only been
driving a few days over 2 years!  The girl on the phone told me, rather
uncertainly, that it was because of an initial discount I'd received

[Mildly OT] Winter Olympics14 Feb 2006 22:34 GMT16
Good to see that the Italians celebrated the opening of the winter
Olympics by having a Ferrari carve out the five rings as donuts.
Somehow I get the feeling that when the Blairlimpics finally grind to a
start in London (provided they can actually finish the stadiums in time)
