Traffic Officers11 May 2006 12:23 GMT117
Just a quickie,
Do the newly appointed Road Traffic Officers have the powers of a
"proper copper", i:e can they pull you for speeding etc ??
I have noticed everybody slowing down to 70 mph when they are about on
MOT 11 May 2006 11:24 GMT64
Put my car in for an MOT last week. All tyres were ok but approaching min
wear limit (1-2mm over). Get a call from the garage, all ok but needs 4 new
tyres. Would you like us to get it done? Really I say, I just checked them,
I know they are approaching min wear limit, but they ...
Cost of wear and tear10 May 2006 20:20 GMT15
I'm looking for some suggestions please.
I've done a lot of travelling recently with a couple of friends and
mainly we've used my car. We've split the petrol costs but I'm
beginning to think that I should also take a contribution from them

Traffic Lights efficiency10 May 2006 14:31 GMT25
Anyone share my  degree of pee'd offness at traffic lights that stops traffic
and leaves the entire junction clear of ANY traffic for ages until some comes
along from another direction then stops them just as they are about to go
through.

Recently, whilst travellling back to Slough from Lancaster, I stopped at a

Gumball 3000 photos10 May 2006 12:37 GMT45
Was in London last weekend for the start of this rally, I went into the
parking garage just behind the hotel and took a load of photos.  A lot of
seriously impressive machinery in there, so yeh take a look if you are
interested.
How does one get to 'The Customer Enquiries Unit (Vehicles)'10 May 2006 12:00 GMT3
Some years ago I bought a second-hand, nearly new car, I was given a piece
of paper V5/2 New Keeper Supplement, which I carefully filed.
I cannot remember ever getting the rest of the documents from the DVLC.
The phone number on my piece of paper is so old it has clearly been ...
Recommendation for trickle charger09 May 2006 20:37 GMT15
I have some rarely used vehicles in which I'd like to keep the batteries
maintained so that the vehicles are always available for use.  I've tried
Hilka chargers which claims to be electronic and automatic, but in the old
screw top style batteries I see they have been "boiling off" ...
Licence Lost - what now?09 May 2006 14:22 GMT26
Chaps,
I'm not going to add to the thread about unlicenced drivers, but I think I
might now be classed as one.
Wallet got lost/nicked on Saturday, it had my licence in. It's a Greek

MOT coming up08 May 2006 08:15 GMT13
Last year, for the first time ever we bought a car less than 3 years old.
Looking on the registration documents I see it was first registered on 2nd
April 2003. Should I have received a "your MOT is now due", or is it left
for the keeper to keep track?
BBC1 Traffic cops last night07 May 2006 23:41 GMT196
For those that missed the above programme it seems that the police have new
powers to remove uninsured cars and unlicensed drivers from the roads. If
they stop a car which the national computer says is uninsured or the driver
unlicensed instead of handing the driver a 'producer' ...
