Cross Roads07 May 2006 20:17 GMT7
Tell you what I'm seeing more and more...picture this.
Traffic lights at cross roads, opposite directions go at the same
time.  Waiting to turn left, lights go green and off you go only for
the driver coming from the opposite direction who wants to turn right
Dangerous HGV driver seen this morning07 May 2006 19:55 GMT3
On the A11, fast moving single carriageway section.
The driver of a shoddy-looking truck had a newspaper spread across his
steering wheel, his elbows resting on it and his chin in his hands. I
wish I'd got his registration plate :(
My Next Car?07 May 2006 15:48 GMT23
In AutoExpress they've got a picture of the new Fiat 500 Abarth!  It
looks great, gold alloys, and recaro seats.
It has a 1.4 Turbo which is supposed to give 150bhp.  The car is
lightweight, and they think it'll hit 60mph in 8 seconds, although that
in hot weather keeping a car cool07 May 2006 15:37 GMT11
I've noticed a growing trend at service stops, people opening there bonnet
and grabbing a seat near by and letting there engine cool down.
When I learnt to drive my old man said if the cars temp goes "crackers" open
all the windows and turn the heater on full. Does opening the ...
Turning off your engine at red traffic lights06 May 2006 12:33 GMT45
I understand this is compulsory in some parts of the world (Switzerland
maybe). But can anyone offer any metric on how much energy is required
to start an engine against how much energy a typical, modern petrol or
diesel car engine uses at tickover? I'd be very interested to see how
Wahey!05 May 2006 10:12 GMT15
Sort of good news anyway.
Anybody remember when some drunk/drugged nutter went along our road smashing
wing mirrors off with a machete at 2am on a Sunday morning?
Just had a call from the Police to say they did catch him, it's been to
It was 20 years ago . . .04 May 2006 19:13 GMT21
I've just found an old 'treasure hunt' answer sheet from July 1986.
Price of Petrol (4 star) was . . .
£1.55 / gallon, roughly 34p/litre
Mind you, the Radio Times only had BBC channel info, which shows what a
Tachograph Q for the truckies04 May 2006 14:03 GMT6
You're bimbling along the motorway, minding your own business, not a lot of
time left for the day.
All of a sudden - it stops. Dead. A little bit of shuffling forwards, but
nothing.
More ANPR stuff04 May 2006 10:42 GMT6
I've just been reading something on a forum about Cardiff police having
some unmarked Mitsubishi Evo FQ400s. A traffic officer from North Wales
has popped up to say that his force have some on order too. Here's the
thing; they aren't for the traffic officers, they're for the ANPR ...
Revealed: How To Drive Motorists Mad03 May 2006 15:49 GMT60
http://uk.news.yahoo.com/25042006/140/revealed-drive-motorists-mad.html
"Tailgating is the biggest cause of road rage on motorways, a survey
has revealed. In more than two in five cases, motorists react by
slowing down or braking sharply to annoy the tailgater. The survey
Speed Cameras03 May 2006 14:04 GMT15
As I've mentioned before, the "A" road through our village is a notorious
accident black spot with most of the KSI involving single vehicle motorbike
accidents. The police have already identified excessive speed as the main
factor causing the accidents with most of the bikers ...
Law and number of passengers allowed02 May 2006 23:12 GMT237
Is there a law on the number of people allowed in a car. I have a five
door escort and was wondering if I could get away with 3 adults and 3
small children but cannot find any information about any passenger
limits.
Yet another professional HGV driver02 May 2006 14:04 GMT148
I've just been talking to a friend who has been dealing with the
aftermath of an HGV driver who tried to dodge the barriers at a level
crossing in Yorkshire, hit the barrier as it descended, knocked it
into the overhead power line, blew the signalling system so
Wife Passes Driving Test!!01 May 2006 23:31 GMT6
I realise you are all on the edge of your seats. Fifth attempt and through.
Easy.
VEHICLE SPEEDS IN GREAT BRITAIN: 200501 May 2006 15:48 GMT90
Is it any wonder that so many people get killed and injured on our
roads when so many drivers are allowed to break the law? The offenders
should be permanently banned from driving!
