For anyone missing the old TopGear26 Sep 2006 18:09 GMT20
Fifth gear is on the box, it embodies all those values you miss.
It's also the most boring pile of old crap that has been on the box well,
ever probably.
Buying a 2nd car which still has finance on it26 Sep 2006 16:08 GMT3
I'm buying a car privately for £22,800. However, the car in on finance
(through Lombard finance) is has about £24,000 owing on it. The seller is
recommending that he will pay the balance and I should pay the finance
company directly to conclude the sale. I called Lombard with the ...
Is the age of a tyre *in itself* a safety issue?26 Sep 2006 10:34 GMT36
Had a new tyre put on my L reg car today. Whilst there, the mechanic
advised me that one of my other tyres dated from 1993- presumably still
the orginal tyre. It still has quite a bit of tread on, so I assume it
spent some time as a spare before being put on the car. However he
Did Paula Stead die after a "follow" or a "chase".25 Sep 2006 22:08 GMT16
BBC TV and Radio have begun referring to police pursuits with
termonology such as "the vehicle was being followed by police".  They
appear to be avoiding the word chase.  If a chase did in fact occur,
then why do the BBC feel the need to sanitise this information?
People who stop by the fuel pumps without filling up.25 Sep 2006 18:33 GMT6
Those people are very annoying, the station staff should really refuse
to serve them.

Beware Churchill Insurance.25 Sep 2006 18:02 GMT4
Last month, I renewed my car insurance with Churchill over the phone.
I paid the annual premium by credit card and thought no more about it
and when the documentation arrived, I filed it away just in case I
needed it when the tax became due or PC Plodd did a "routine check"

Insuring 17 year old driver24 Sep 2006 20:16 GMT107
My nephew is desperate to get his first car when he's old enough.
Can anybody give me pointers as to what vehicle is best to aim for.
I've found some insurance sites which will give you a quote but they
want to know details of your vehicle first.
Repeat of Traffic cops on UKTV People last night?24 Sep 2006 12:34 GMT3
Conor, was that you that they filmed in the truck wearing the black
stockings, brown ankle boots and gold thong?
I know that they blured out the phone number, company name and face from the
truck but I bet its owners/drivers would recognise the colouring and indeed
You people who cut across garage forecourts when the lights are on red..24 Sep 2006 11:08 GMT23
Stop being tits. You're not in such a rush that it's worth driving
across an area with people wandering about, just to save a minute or
two. Oh, and I laugh heartily when it doesn't work out and everyone
that was previously behind you drives past as you try to pull out of
