Euro NCAP strongly recommends Stability Control22 Sep 2006 14:57 GMT29
I'm quite surprised to see an independent testing organisation banging
the drum about this. Not knowing any better I presume it's good - it
certainly sounds like a sensible idea.
"Recent evidence shows that Stability Control can dramatically reduce

First Crocky, then Brocky, now a Brit, by the name of Richard Hammond.

Driving up to Inverness theres 2 big, long steep hills that lead into it. At
the Daviot hill I decided to know the gear lever of the artic (with a load)

Lib Dem's plans to tax motorists21 Sep 2006 11:47 GMT161
Looks like they have abandoned plans to tax very high earners at 50p , and
plan to raise money by taxing polluters.
On the BBC news they reported the figures as being £1500 for a normal family
saloon and £2k+ for large 4*4s!
A traffic car and a cyclist21 Sep 2006 08:44 GMT7
Derestricted and very busy dual carriageway, just before a large over
motorway roundabout - I spotted a young lad on a bike riding down the
centre line with vehicles whizzing past him on both sides. Young lad
seems completely oblivious of the traffic and the danger he is in, so I ...
Test for motorway driving21 Sep 2006 03:37 GMT100
Isn't it about time they introduced an extra driving test before people are
allowed on the motorway? Perhaps something that needs a much higher level of
skill in general driving as well as motorway driving, not exactly IAM type
test, but to show the driver has very good driving ...
Driving paranoia20 Sep 2006 22:34 GMT14
When I drive late at night through an unlit I'm often noticing the car's
lights behind me appearing to flash at me. I don't think they're flashing,
but when there's a small incline or bump in the road the lights are
pointing directly at me making it seem like they're flashing.
M61 S J4-320 Sep 2006 22:08 GMT10
Driving home from work this week, there's been a marked Police Astra parked
in a cordoned-off stretch of the M61 hard shoulder between J4-3 Southboung
on M61.  Marked as roadworks, and there's one of the thin barriers
seperating the hard shoulder from the main carriageway.
Fantastic observations!20 Sep 2006 19:09 GMT9
Coming north on the A19 into Sunderland north yesterday, noticed that the
left lane was busier than normal for the time of day.  As I ascended up the
slip road which goes into 2 lanes I noticed that quite a way ahead, traffic
in the left lane was moving over to the right.
Driving in the UK on a US license.20 Sep 2006 17:13 GMT5
A m8 of mine has a full US driving license.  He is coming to live in
the UK.  Can he exchange his US license for a full UK licence or will
he need to take another driving test in the UK?  An official reference
would be helpful.  Thanks.

Before 2 trips to Portsmouth I was doing 37mpg and after filling up

Police bad example.19 Sep 2006 17:44 GMT28
I have been an Driving Instructor for two weeks. In that time I have built
up over 30 lessons a week, from both beginners and test ready clients. As
well as teaching the mechanics, I also mix in plenty of observation and
anticipation.
