Car cloning22 Nov 2006 09:24 GMT28
Read about this in our local paper someone "cloned" a car and used it to go
past speed cameras fast, in and out of the congestion charge zone and
various other traffic offences.
It didn't give much info on how they do it and what you can do to protect
Blind Spot Mirrors21 Nov 2006 20:20 GMT247
Taking of blind... I've been meaning to start a thread about blind spot
mirrors for a while. I never hear much talk about them, but on my car
(Sierra) it has a terrible blind spot where a car overtaking me on motorway
totally disappears for a few moments. This happens from the point ...

Anyone see it?
Got stuck in the traffic jam behind the incident.  Several fire engines,
ambulances, police vehicles flying down the hard shoulder to get to the
scene.  I was only about half a mile from the incident but the motorway was

Driving down no entry20 Nov 2006 21:53 GMT11
Feel a bit of a tit for even asking.
I went to see a mate yesterday with my cousin just to pick up some torx
screwdribver bits. Where he lives though is a controlled parking area
heavily wardened. I think £1.20 for 40 mins. I was only going to be 2/3
Engine failure19 Nov 2006 22:33 GMT20
Twas driving to Stratford Saturday morning when on the A46 at Coventry
this people carrier (didn't notice the make) joined the road ahead of
me at a roand-a-bout.  He seemed to be travelling at a fair old pace
and had rather a lot of engine smoke.  I explained to the gf that it is
speed limit exiting motorway services19 Nov 2006 15:41 GMT5
Had a bit of a debate with a work pal today apub lunch depends on this :)
Ok when entering a service stop whatever one theres usually a sign advising
of speed say 10mph and then on exiting there is none saying end of
resriction or back to motorway etc if you see what I mean, he ...
"1/3 of young drivers have raced on roads" BRAKE18 Nov 2006 22:35 GMT88
but when quizzed racing includes being a passenger in a car where the
driver attempted to be quicker away from the lights than the car
alongside, total bollocks then.
tolls and parking charges18 Nov 2006 20:01 GMT70
I am starting to get alarmed at the costs of getting to the countryside by
car.   There is this feeling that I have that as a motorist I am fair game
for any organization that wants to extract money for me under some guise or
other.  Is there a website somewhere that provides ...

The Highways Agency are going to carry out a 3 month survey into what
drivers think of motorway services, lay-bys and picnic areas according to
this report http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk_politics/6154352.stm . Why didn't
they do this in the Summer when more people might use the ...

Do BMWs destroy brain cells....17 Nov 2006 15:19 GMT32
..you have to wonder.
It seems that when someone gets behind the wheel of one of these
soul-less Teutonic engineering 'wonders', their brains seem to atrophy
and their vision goes into a sort of "looking into the binoculars from

Evening my fellow motorist :)
I know next to nothing about cars as you probably guessed.
What I was pondering today whilst viewing the car mag section of magazines
saw on saying which is best RWD and FWD but that was written on the outter
