Dating-on MOT certificate17 Nov 2006 02:35 GMT3
I you have a "computerised" (green) MOT certificate, is the next one
automatically dated-on 12 months from the expiry date, or do you still have
to produce the old one at the time of the test?

speed camera HIRWAUN SOUTH WALES16 Nov 2006 21:16 GMT32
Recently photographed allegedly doing 43mph on a 30mph road.  This is the
first time that I have been photographed by a speed camera and there are a
few things that I am pondering.  Firstly, the camera flash went off twice in
quick succession and I was sure it had photographed ...
Yet more M8 roadworks16 Nov 2006 00:46 GMT9
Ah yes........the M8, I can barely recall a drive from Glasgow to
Edinburgh or Edinburgh to Glasgow in the last 5 years where I've not
encountered roadworks.
This weekend, we have the joys of being down to one lane each way
talivan and speeding14 Nov 2006 22:09 GMT36
I understand that those bastards at "safetycameras" have developed a machine
that  If you are caught speeding can look back at previous actions on the
same road so If you are caught on the A48 look back at up to 3 years on the
same road so that if you are caught speeding once can be ...
My ideal car14 Nov 2006 11:29 GMT7
The frame of the car would be heavily reinforced. All lights would be sunk
slightly to avoid damage on impact. The car would be very hard to damage
during minor collisions with other vehicles. It would also have a camera
to prove fault in RTAs.

Journey Time Trial - M4213 Nov 2006 19:47 GMT25
Does the "ban" on HGVs in lane 2 of the 3-mile experiment on the northbound
M42 have legal force?
It seems to be often ignored, as again this afternoon (FN05 FAK - Fred
Sherwood).
Gatso after 500 yards!13 Nov 2006 16:22 GMT2
I just got a cheap SatNav. It warns me when I'm 500 and 100 yards from a
Gatro with a message on the screen and a warning noise, it's been 100%
accurate so far.
I can see this kind of idea actually helping people caught speeding rather
Bit of advice needed guys...13 Nov 2006 10:22 GMT13
Hi there just a quick question, A neighbor has recently had some kind
of white solid line painted on the road in front of his house. I assume
this means "no parking" for anyone however is there any known ways
around it? i hear spilling black paint over the marked area makes it
GPS / Speedo Accuracy13 Nov 2006 06:01 GMT11
I put the satnav in our Zafira the other day and f.ck me, at 60, 70, 80
and 90 (the speeds I checked at) both the GPS and the speedo were
showing the same figure!
In the Peugeot, the speedo is out by 8mph at 90...

yesterdays recreational drive - liverpool12 Nov 2006 11:57 GMT1
earlyish start due to the tide times, we wanted to be on crosby beach
before 12 mid day but due to a wrong turn (even happens to me*) and
several comfort breaks for the mrs we arrived a bit late. the planned
walk on the beach didn't happen due to the 50, gusting to 70 mph winds.
Speeder Jailed - Chief Inspector Hayden Roberts lies through teeth11 Nov 2006 20:59 GMT7
What Chief Inspector Hayden Roberts of GMP fails to point out when he
talks of the serious offence when someobody speeds pass his 'safety'
camera, is that his own officers and the speed camera partnerships all
routinely exceed the limit without fear of prosecution, without a care
Garmin Nuvi 310 problem11 Nov 2006 16:28 GMT2
Bought a Nuvi 310 about three weeks ago. Been working perfectly but, within
the last few days, an annoying problem has arisen in that the 'final
instruction' of 'turn left' or 'turn right' is given too early.
Normally the verbal instruction will be along the lines of:
