| Astra exhaust pipes | 14 Jan 2007 21:57 GMT | 3 |
I have an Astra on a 03 plate and this morning I found a big lump of metal hanging of the back box. I ripped the metal off (got covered in s**t in the process, lucky me). It looks like it was just some kind of backbox cover as the exhaust is not blowing and (what I can see) of

| Stupid crash - aren't they all? | 14 Jan 2007 12:03 GMT | 12 |
Somehow, last night my mind drifted back to one of the most silly affairs I ever saw. 1966,Cambridge Mass, USA: A car, nosed in a slot at right angles to the kerb, slowly backed out.

Today going up the A1 northbound, it all suddenly came to a halt a mile or so south of Quernhow Slop Stop nose to tail in both lanes. Oh great, another one on it's side I thought. Anyway gets a bit further up the road and a wagon has broken down in lane one.

| A50 nr Uttoxeter | 13 Jan 2007 13:52 GMT | 18 |
I had the pleasure of driving down the A50 from the M1 to Uttoxeter three times this week, I saw four prangs (or at least the wreckage) on my travels (all in the morning around 08:00) and was late two out of three days because of them. Didn't see any on the evening return!

| Drivers on mobile phone could soon face prison | 11 Jan 2007 11:57 GMT | 188 |
<http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/main.jhtml?xml=/news/2006/12/14/nmob14.xml> The sooner the better. I admit serious bias in having being very nearly run down on a pedestrian crossing (lights in my favour) by a driver using a hand-held mobile.

| Red mist | 10 Jan 2007 21:41 GMT | 67 |
I just love how thick some motorists are. My student was about to pull away from a roundabout (quiet residential road), but she stalled. While she was re-starting, I was looking at the male driver behind. He was obviously upset at this 15 second delay, so decided to

| When do you use fog lights | 09 Jan 2007 15:04 GMT | 87 |
With the recent heavy fog I've been using my fog lights and other drivers have been using them. I found it very useful when going down the A34 late at night where I could only just about see about 15 metres in front of me and a car ahead had fog
