I'm doing 30 in a built up areaapproaching a S/C which has been restricted
to 50 (as there have been many deaths on it in the past 10 years) anyway I
always drive to the speed limit which I take into account my uncalibrated
speedo.  So am approaching at 30 and continue to do 30 ...

I was looking at getting some lights for my new bicycle. Flashing lights
seem like a good idea for visibility but I've been told they're illegal.
I've seen lots of people including police using them. A Google search

My instructor has been very clear about one point - do not under any  
circumstances cause another vehicle to slow or change direction, otherwise  
a pass is in doubt.

In recent weeks (in the middle of England at least) I've noticed a lot
of road signs are getting new 'lattice' stands/supports, instead of
the usual 'tubular' ones.  Does anyone know why this is, and what
implications it has?  Is it simply because they are cheaper, or easier

I'm putting together a small accident pack for the glove box.  This
includes some paper and a retractable pencil to sketch any accident /
direction of travel / signs / take witness details, etc, a disposable
flash camera, copy of insurance certificate, a few business-type cards
