Headlight beam deflectors31 Jul 2007 21:34 GMT11
In a few weeks I'm planning to take my car to France for the second time this
year and I'm getting fed up with buying those nasty little plastic discs,
sticking them onto my headlights, and then with some difficulty scraping them
off when I return. I wonder if everyone else does ...

Enjoyable programme - next time they can try the geographic one!
M42, motorway or car park30 Jul 2007 18:17 GMT32
Had the pleasure of driving along the M42 & back to Nottingham today -
what a joke. I say driving - more like glorified car parking really.
The ***miles*** of traffic queues around B'ham was sodding awful. Of
course I was part of the problem! Just glad I don't often have to do
f.cking caravans30 Jul 2007 17:41 GMT62
The A30 was reduced to a one lane road again this morning as legions of
caravan towing plebs occupied the inside lane all the way from Exeter.
That alone would be fine except for the outside lane was mostley full of
overloaded family cars with everthing but the kitchen sink on ...
Getting into the City30 Jul 2007 14:40 GMT42
Imagine - I join the main road into my city centre at a roundabout. I
consider this to be the back of the queue.
Between me and the traffic lights where I need to cross the Ring Road are
about 100 cars. The traffic lights give a green signal every 4 minutes and

Megane 2003 1.5dci Service Reset?29 Jul 2007 18:24 GMT13
Does anyone know how to reset the service indicator (Flashing spanner) on a
2003 1.5dci Megane?  I understand that it is in an Autodata book, but they
are ££££ silly money!
I'm happy to service my own cars but things like this annoying spanner (with
Overflowing drains29 Jul 2007 12:32 GMT9
Welcome from Gloucester, which can't decide whether to be too wet or too
dry... flooded *and* no water for maybe 14 days(!!!!). At least we've
still got power. For now.
Anyway, I found this. I thought *we* had trouble with overflowing

Nissan Primera27 Jul 2007 23:56 GMT6
My gf has a new shape Nissan Primera (each to their own), I went to
fill it up the other day and couldn't get more than 20 pence of fuel
in at a time without the pump cutting out.  It's the second time this
has happened in the Nissan.

Interesting chat with a "professional" driver.25 Jul 2007 19:21 GMT41
I've been having a chat with a local trucky where he was more than happy to
tell of how he disables his speed limiter and fixes the tachograph readings
across a range of lorries that he drives. Quite interesting really as he has
then used the fixed tachograph and a calibration ...
Cars with less than 120g/km CO2 Emissions25 Jul 2007 18:40 GMT39
As a self-employed person i'm apparently entitled to a 100% tax allowance if
I buy a new car with less that 120g/km CO2 emissions.
This leads me to wonder what kind of motor would suit my purposes. I'd need
it to be a hatchback with seats that could fold down. Other than that it
Witney Wetness25 Jul 2007 16:22 GMT4
Anyone got any idea of how saturated Witney, Oxfordshire is at the mo?
I've got friends staying who're plannin on heading over that way at
the end of the week - personally I think it's a bad idea and they
should stay put - but I've said I'll ask around and see if anyone
