| Registration Plates | 10 Jul 2008 17:28 GMT | 23 |
I wonder why some people feel it necessary or desirable to echo the model of their car in the reg plate - eg BMW X5 with - X5 on the reg plate. I suppose the dealer may be responsible for buying the registration and then selling it on - or offering it as an incentive.

| Not so well done DVLA | 10 Jul 2008 08:08 GMT | 3 |
I took my car off the road about two weeks ago, I duly made a SORN on the day via the on line service. Got a letter back in a couple of days acknowledging the SORN. In todays post I got two letters from DVLA - one months road tax

| British GP. | 09 Jul 2008 23:26 GMT | 25 |
I did NOT watch this race and will not watch it as long as it is run at Silverstone. The rdrivers club owns this dull track and it should be held at a track with hilly curves. I might even accept Mallory Park (the friendly circuit) even though the parking might be a bit time

| Headlights on dual carriageways | 09 Jul 2008 18:34 GMT | 37 |
I'm quite an inexperienced driver, so I'd like some advice on the "unspoken rules of the road". Since night driving isn't covered at all in the driving test, I've been reading up on it in some books and on the web instead, and I think I've got a pretty good idea of when to dip and

I'm thinking of going hi tec. Want a GPS that can be moved from one car to another easily and quickly. Can anyone give me a quick rundown on the differences between them? There's some cheap stuff on ebay but do you get what you pay for?

| Well done DVLA | 09 Jul 2008 10:26 GMT | 18 |
Yes really. I had my wallet stolen on Friday and lost my 25-year old green (non-photo, obviously) driving licence. Checked the DVLA website and found I could order a new one online. No need for a photo or signature as they can get that from the passport database if you provide a ...

| Terrible way to negotiate a roundabout. | 08 Jul 2008 15:24 GMT | 10 |
Imagine a nice wide gentle roundabout, with two lanes, typical of those above motorway junctions. Not very busy most of the time, so plenty of spare capacity. Now why do some drivers (usually the slower ones) insist on taking a

Probably only marginally on-topic but here are some photos of a truck movement to Moscow done by a British company. They were taken by one of the drivers on the trip. http://trucknetuk.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=33612

| scary moment | 06 Jul 2008 22:46 GMT | 45 |
Approached and stopped at mini roundabout and looked in all directions - all clear. As I pulled away a moped and rider appeared from behind the driver's side A post and drove off in the same direction as I was going.
