A Man With Two Cameras30 Nov 2008 19:14 GMT27
Yesterday I drove down a main road near Wrotham in Kent and I noticed
on each side of the two-way road facing oncoming traffic was a camera
unit of some kind on a tripod, with a cable descending to a box
beneath.  I could see no-one with them and no indication what they

In a newspaper article reprinted in my local newspaper, from a
newspaper article from Washington, DC, there was a statement about
Birmingham, "a small town in Northern Britian."
Being a retiree from the Birmingham near Coventry, I found that the AA

National Insurance Arrears26 Nov 2008 17:53 GMT7
My wife recently sent off for a pension forecast, and was pleasantly
surprised to find that with 10 years of the new 'Home Responsibility
Protection' added onto the 10 years NI contributions she has paid, she will
now be entitled to somewhere around 2/3rds of the full basic ...

Another cyclist red light runner25 Nov 2008 13:29 GMT42
Nothing new in that you must agree.
However I was somewhat disconcerted as I was using the crossing at the
time ! Had I not had my hands full I'd have been tempted to provide an
appropriate gesture.
Flashing red lights22 Nov 2008 20:17 GMT5
I've noticed on some police, traffic vehicles that they sometimes have
the rear lights flashing on and off or in 'wig wag' mode.
I was reading the Road Vehicles Lighting Regulations which has specific
exemptions for flashing headlamps and blue warnings lamps/beacons for use
Knocking out dents22 Nov 2008 09:43 GMT26
Some pillock in a car park has wacked his door against mine and left a dent
in my driver's door. It's not large - about the size of a pound coin, but it
is very noticeable. It's about half way along the door and some 4 inches
below the level of the window. The paint is not ...

Longest Stretch of Road20 Nov 2008 20:53 GMT51
What is the longest 'unbroken' stretch of road in the UK? In other
words, a length of road which goes from A to B and has no turn-offs or
any other junctions along its length (excluding access to farms,
housing estates, industrial estates, etc.). I presume it's a length of
dual/single carrageway20 Nov 2008 20:11 GMT16
Must be a sad sod to start thinking of this but...
If you are on a national speed limit (stick to cars) and it's multi lane
with no barrier it's single carrageway 60mph.
If you were on a two lane road, one in either direction, but it had a
De-icing20 Nov 2008 18:54 GMT59
On frosty mornings when you're de-icing the car by waiting for the
engine to warm up and blow heat through the fans, rather than using a
