Whos good for one day insurance24 Jul 2009 08:29 GMT3
After calling my current insurer who said theres no such thing as one day
insurance and they most certainly don't do it. I called back up to get
another person who says they don't offer the service.
A few years ago I used someone but can't for the love of god remember who.

You'd think a pick-up with this number plate would have headlights on,
not just sidelights, in bad weather on a NSL dual-carriagway

Slow lane22 Jul 2009 22:47 GMT6
This has to be a joke - no one could be that stupid!
or maybe they could.
On a North American site someone asked.
I know the slow lane is the right lane on roads where they  drive on
uk.rec.cycling.moderated and urcm-moderators@chiark.greenend.org.uk22 Jul 2009 20:44 GMT21
Ian Jackson's system "chiark" is supposed to be running
uk.rec.cycling.moderated, yet he is consistently discarding emails to
the moderation address and claiming that it is the fault of Microsoft
(sorry, should that be M$).
Doppler effect22 Jul 2009 18:28 GMT18
I wondered if anyone could tell me the reason behind the doppler
effect on emergency vehicles?  I'm guessing it's probably so blind
people can judge how far away the vehicle is, or possibly the change
of frequency helps attract the attention of motorists. Are there any
Fuel Fugitives - 126 mpg in a Peugeot 306 HDI 11022 Jul 2009 01:33 GMT17
The motorway service stations have lots of posters advertising the amazing
achievement (www.fuelfugitives.co.uk) of John and Helen Taylor in averaging
126 mpg on 3700-mile journey around the UK. For comparison, the
manufacturer's published figures are 42.8 (urban) / 67.2 ...
uk.r.d Thames Valley/West London mini-meet21 Jul 2009 19:01 GMT27
We are (mostly) human. I'm convinced of it.
So - what about proving it face-to-face? Bury the online hatchet, and try
to prove that you can function in a meatspace social situation.
Suggestions for date & location welcome.
''Obsessive" online opponents of speed cameras.21 Jul 2009 17:52 GMT268
Who can he mean?
Speed cameras polarise opinion, dividing any dinner party as surely as
private schooling or the usefulness of Twitter.
Thus some will be delighted at the news that the capital's biggest
Speed Awareness Course21 Jul 2009 09:35 GMT90
DW was recently zapped by a mobile speed camera. Her NIP states that she was
recorded at 36mph in a 30mph zone. It was one of those stretches of road
where the speed limit reduces but the traffic flow often does not. I know
she was wrong not to slow down for the reduced limit, ...

Hi all...
Popped in to pick your brains a tad.
Just about to get a few bits done on a Mondeo at a garage I haven't been to
before (but have been recommended) & they've given me an idea of the labour
