I am about to buy a '96 850 5 spd...
I'm new to Volvo, having always been a Saab person.  One reason is that
it has been very hard to find a 850 wagon that has a manual/standard
transmission.

Thanks,
240 seat springs / kit ?28 Apr 2004 04:04 GMT1
The driver's seat on my 1989  240DL has sprung a few springs at the rear
of the seat surface.  Does anyone know how/where I can get a new set of
the short, thick coil springs that support the seat cushion, along with
the cable ( or thick twine?) that these springs attach to?  It ...
S/V40 grille removal27 Apr 2004 21:37 GMT2
How hard is it to remove the grille on a S/V40?  Friend of mine has a '99
S40 T4 and he wants to change to the egg-crate grille that's on the later
models (not the latest one).  I've only removed grilles on my 740, which is
a 10 second job with no tools required.  Are S/V40 grilles ...
side marker lights27 Apr 2004 20:07 GMT4
Parts retailers say these are available for many Volvos with the Volvo
nameplates just ahead of the front doors.  The nameplates are supposed to be
easy to snap out, and the lights fit into the hole in the fender.  A wiring
harness is required, and one can supposedly wire the extra ...
Strange coolant leak '87 760 GLE27 Apr 2004 19:11 GMT7
1987 Volvo 760 GLE B280F
Well, I have a strange coolant leak.  I can't trace it exactly, I just ran the car through
a car wash and draining from the rocker panel on the driver's side (LHD) was quite an
amount of coolant dripping from the drain holes!!  Obviously, I have a leak in my ...
leave gas tank in?26 Apr 2004 14:15 GMT1
I'm replacing the in tank gas pump in a 240 Wagon. The car is off the ground
enough that the tank lowering is easy. But...I'm not sure how to disconnect the
filler  hose.. I'm  thinking  maybe about just removing the top access and
pulling the innards out and doing a simple ...
Accessory Belts on '90 740 GL26 Apr 2004 14:11 GMT2
What is the best way to change the power steering,
alternator, and AC, and fan belts on a '90 740 GL?
Do you need to remove the fan?  If so, what is the
best way to do this?  I have a Chilton's manual and it
87 240 DL Wagon intermittent not start - help!26 Apr 2004 14:07 GMT4
I am a long time SAAB owner, don't hold that against me!
A friend of mine has an 86 Volvo 240 DL Wagon she has owned since new. It
has been well taken care of. It has about 180k miles on it.
Lately, it sometimes doesn't start. It cranks, but does not "kick".
Headlamp problem w/ '87- 240 DL Wagon25 Apr 2004 23:02 GMT1
I'm new to Volvo having just inherited this 240.  I just realized I
have no
high-beams. When the dimmer switch is activated, the headlamps turn
off

phone kit. I have hit a problem as that i want to remove the stereo
and use this for power. So how the hell do i remove the stereo, as it
seems to be moulded into the dash. The Volvo in question is a V70 2001
'84 240Ti  Part III25 Apr 2004 15:12 GMT8
Thank you to all who helped diagnose the wiring harness having
degraded its insulation - as the cause for my gauges going wild.
I had the harness removed and each wire re-wrapped; GREAT IMPROVEMENT.
I noticed on the way home (once again from that shop) that now the Oil
1989 Volvo 240 Repair Guide? Which one is best?24 Apr 2004 18:13 GMT7
Hi Folks!...I'm new here. I'm also the new owner of a 1989 240 Gl
Wagon with 140000 kms.  A great deal, but the car came with some small
problems.  I live abroad and need to buy a "how to book" that can help
me with repairs ( some already needed)
