| Air conditioning woes '94 850 | 12 May 2004 01:08 GMT | 4 |
Manual A/C system on a '94 850 During early spring, the A/C in this car worked OK, maybe not as cool as I would expect, but reasonably satisfactory. I assumed it was the R134 refrigerant that made it less than ideal cooling.

| 240 Water Temp Gage | 11 May 2004 13:11 GMT | 11 |
I lived with the old temp compensation board problems for years with my '89 240. I finally replaced it with the IPD jumper setup, and could not be happier. I feel I get to see real, actual readings now. I can see the needle deflection when the thermostat opens, and I can see

| Vadis ID's, passwords and time resettings | 11 May 2004 12:18 GMT | 3 |
I have a chance to buy a Vadis DVD which has Volvo service information on it for my cars. The seller does not know what it means to need an ID or password, or how to set an .INI file so that the disk will not act as if it has expired. Can anyone help me with this. Are the ID's ...

| 740 rear silencer upside down | 11 May 2004 08:41 GMT | 4 |
I went to Kwikfit to have a new cat back system fitted on my '91 745. The rear silencer is fitted upside down and looks terrible. It took 3 visits to get something done, which included driving back to get them to tighten up the U clamps which they had forgotten to do etc. etc. and ...

| S80 | 11 May 2004 04:27 GMT | 1 |
A couple of weeks ago my CD changer refused to accept new CD's, and the screen came up with an error message. Finally after some playing around, and retrying, it did. A few days ago, the same thing, only this time no amount of finesse or

| '89 760 turbo fuel requirements? | 11 May 2004 00:47 GMT | 2 |
The motor is a B230FT. The owner's manual says to use high-octane. Given the rapidly rising cost of all grades, I was wondering if I could cheap out and use regular. I drive it very conservatively. I thought the turbos were a lower compression

| Re-commisioning and converting a 740 aircon system | 10 May 2004 19:31 GMT | 4 |
Now that what we call 'summer' is nearly upon us in the alleged 'united kingdom', I'm once again having very stupid thoughts about trying to get my aircon working, I'm attempting to source a r134a retrofit kit, but the major problem I've got is that, a lot of the aluminium pipes ...

| 2001 V70XC Radiator Fan wont shut off | 10 May 2004 18:46 GMT | 5 |
While driving home from dinner last night I noticed the radiator fan was running (I could hear it). After shutting the car off, that fan continued to run. This is not the system that removes moisture from the AC. The fan proceeded to run all night, draining the battery, and ...

| Stromberg CD q | 10 May 2004 14:11 GMT | 3 |
My 1978-ish 244 has just had points, plugs and timing done, but it's still backfiring and coughing appallingly. The mechanic said the carb [Stromberg CD 15 2] is beyond adjustment and needs an overhaul, too rich at idle and too lean above. Anyone got an exploded diagram? Found one
