Air conditioning woes '94 85012 May 2004 01:08 GMT4
Manual A/C system on a '94 850
During early spring, the A/C in this car worked OK, maybe not as cool
as I would expect, but reasonably satisfactory. I assumed it was the
R134 refrigerant that made it less than ideal cooling.
Had a little mishap in my volvo this weekend, a soda can exploded11 May 2004 13:24 GMT1
So I took a trip to the desert this weekend, and didnt even think about it,
but I had a full unopened can of rootbeer in the front cupholder, well
sometime during the day it exploded at the top and shot rootbeer all over
the place.
240 Water Temp Gage11 May 2004 13:11 GMT11
I lived with the old temp compensation board problems for years with
my '89 240. I finally replaced it with the IPD jumper setup, and could
not be happier. I feel I get to see real, actual readings now.  I can
see the needle deflection when the thermostat opens, and I can see
Vadis ID's, passwords and time resettings11 May 2004 12:18 GMT3
I have a chance to buy a Vadis DVD which has Volvo service information
on it for my cars. The seller does not know what it means to need an ID or
password, or how to set an .INI file so that the disk will not act as if it
has expired. Can anyone help me with this. Are the ID's ...
740 rear silencer upside down11 May 2004 08:41 GMT4
I went to Kwikfit to have a new cat back system fitted on my '91 745. The
rear silencer is fitted upside down and looks terrible. It took 3 visits to
get something done, which included driving back to get them to tighten up
the U clamps which they had forgotten to do etc. etc.  and ...
S8011 May 2004 04:27 GMT1
A couple of weeks ago my CD changer refused to accept new CD's, and the
screen came up with an error message. Finally after some playing around, and
retrying, it did.
A few days ago, the same thing, only this time no amount of finesse or
240 Warm Starting Problems11 May 2004 00:59 GMT3
My son has a 1986 240 non-turbo, that for the past two spring and
summer seasons has been hard to start when it it warm out. It is
aggrevating because during the cold weather it starts fine. Where do I
start to look?
'89 760 turbo fuel requirements?11 May 2004 00:47 GMT2
The motor is a B230FT.
The owner's manual says to use high-octane.  Given the rapidly rising cost
of all grades, I was wondering if I could cheap out and use regular.  I
drive it very conservatively.  I thought the turbos were a lower compression
2004.5 S40 T5 (My First Volvo)10 May 2004 22:49 GMT1
I just bought one through the overseas program, unfortunately the model was
not equipped with the navigation system.  Does anyone know if a dealer can
install it, or just the factory?
Thanks
Re-commisioning and converting a 740 aircon system10 May 2004 19:31 GMT4
Now that what we call 'summer' is nearly upon us in the alleged 'united
kingdom', I'm once again having very stupid thoughts about trying to get my
aircon working, I'm attempting to source a r134a retrofit kit, but the major
problem I've got is that, a lot of the aluminium pipes ...
2001 V70XC Radiator Fan wont shut off10 May 2004 18:46 GMT5
While driving home from dinner last night I noticed the radiator fan was
running (I could hear it).  After shutting the car off, that fan continued to
run.  This is not the system that removes moisture from the AC.  The fan
proceeded to run all night, draining the battery, and ...

'93 940 temperature guage10 May 2004 16:01 GMT7
My friend has a '93 940 with a dead temperature guage, the engine has
overheated a couple times now so I figure fixing the guage is the first
order of business. Which sensor controls it? Also is there any particularly
common problem I should look for? Already tried tapping the ...

Stromberg CD q10 May 2004 14:11 GMT3
My 1978-ish 244 has just had points, plugs and timing done, but it's
still backfiring and coughing appallingly. The mechanic said the carb
[Stromberg CD 15 2] is beyond adjustment and needs an overhaul, too rich
at idle and too lean above. Anyone got an exploded diagram? Found one
