850 stuck glove box door17 May 2004 00:13 GMT2
I thought I read somewhere this was a known problem, but can't seem to
find a fix. the 850 glove box door is locked. the finger latch moves,
and does not seem to be loose, but it isn't releasing the catch. And..
before anyone asks - yes - I'm sure it's not locked with the key.
Leasing overseas16 May 2004 22:47 GMT1
Does anyone have info on leasing a volvo overseas?  I will be transfered to
South Africa soon and can't import my car because it is to New (nothing made
after 1 Jan 2000 allowed) I will be there for 3 years and a lease would be
perfect so I don't have a 3 year old car right hand ...
99 S79 Electronic Throttle Module cleaning/poor idle16 May 2004 20:17 GMT2
Just thought I would post this to help others.  Our 99 S70 (with 110K
miles on the clock) had exhibited random, intermittent surging, along
with a low idle of about 600 RPM.  At this low idle, it was running
rough.
'89 740T brake fluid bleed16 May 2004 19:44 GMT3
The brake pedal feel on my 89' 740 Turbo has really softened in the last
month so I decided to bleed the fluid. I checked both the brake pads and
rotor to see if they needed replacement, they didn't. So along with a
patient buddy I did the tried and true old school method of pump ...
1997 Volvo 850 T5  AC16 May 2004 19:36 GMT2
The air conditioning on my 97 Volvo 850 cuts out periodically, but as
soon as I stop the car, turn off the engine, and restart it, the AC
turns on and works for 75 miles or so, then cuts out again. I have had
it fully charged and there are no leaks. Why is this happening and
850 flametrap location16 May 2004 18:40 GMT3
Help,
I am very suspicious that I have a gummed up flametrap.  I have been into
the engine three times and I can't find it.  Could someone give me some
rough directions where it is located.  I see two hoses that come out of the
240 Wagon Third Seat/Cargo Area16 May 2004 17:46 GMT3
I've never seen, in person, a 240 wagon with the third seat, but just photos of
them.  It looks like the third seat would take up the whole under-floor area
(if you know what I mean) of the cargo area.  Is that the case?  In my current
(and previous) 240 wagon (without the third ...
Rear Shock 1988 740 Estate16 May 2004 17:24 GMT10
I have what looks like oil coming from under the rear shock absorber. Would
it need to be changed, what price for a new one.
'92 240 Sedan, 72K miles, 5-speed for sale16 May 2004 15:04 GMT11
THIS IS NOT MY CAR!!!
I post this because of the recent thread on how real nice 240's are getting
hard to get.  This came up in our local paper here in Eugene, OR today and it
sure looks like a sweet one!  I talked to the guy briefly (didn't want to yank
WTB: trailer hitch for 740, 760, 940, 96016 May 2004 12:13 GMT8
I'm looking to buy a used trailer hitch for my 1990 Volvo 740 GL.
Class I or Class II (which essentially means, "any Class).
I believe that the hitches for the 740, 760, 940, and 960 are
identical.
90 740GLE 16V Sedan Headliner Replacement16 May 2004 06:33 GMT4
Hi, Everybody!
I know a lot of you guys out there tackle this task already. I just pulled
my headliner out and it was a mess, couldn't get it out through the back
right passenger side, tried the front passenger and wouldn't come out so
'81 240 A/C compressor seal kit--source?16 May 2004 05:19 GMT1
I tried charging my A/C, and discovered a bad leak at the compressor shaft.  Is
there an online source for a seal kit?  I once replaced this seal in an old
Wagoneer, and it still works fine.

switch to no day lights?16 May 2004 04:19 GMT2
How can I switch OFF my headlights so that they are not on all of the time?
Just had the headlight switch mechanism replaced, as it failed - and now can't
for the life of me get the little 'switch' to turn them to the off position on
the new one (without tearing up the console.... ...
1980 262C Bertone Coupe for sale16 May 2004 02:23 GMT1
I have my 262C Bertone Coupe for sale to an enthusiast Volvo fan.
I am in Brisbane, Australia.
It's a 1980 RHD model, been in my family since new, and has done only
128,000km.
A/C problems... 16 May 2004 01:38 GMT15
Well, today was the first hot day in Toronto.... and sure enough the air-con
in the 1993 960 didn't work.
It blew slightly chilled air thru the vents, but never "ice cold air"...
which I know this car is capable of. The clutch on the compressor was
