S70 Door Spring Failure - Anyone Else?30 Jun 2004 09:33 GMT2
Weird thing happened tonight - I opened the (drivers side) door of my 1997
S70, to be greeted with a loud "crack" and the check-strap spring failing
(it's now rattling round in the bottom of the door). Anyone else experienced
this? I suppose it'll mean a trip to the dealer...

What's my car worth?29 Jun 2004 19:37 GMT36
I've just bought a "new" 240 wagon (via eBay) and my brother-in-law, who lives
in mid-Michigan (I'm in the Chicago area) wants to buy my old car.  I don't
want to give it away, but I want to be fair on the price, or even slightly
unfair to me.  I've checked Kelley, so I know what ...
Buying New S6029 Jun 2004 18:50 GMT12
First time poster to this group.
My wife is close to closing a deal on a new S-60. I'm curious about the
holdback amount with Volvos. I think it's 3% with GM cars. The difference
between the retail and invoice price on a Volvo seem suspiciously low. I'd
Is VOLVO's XC90 SUV based on any one of GM's SUV body styles?29 Jun 2004 18:21 GMT15
Is VOLVO's XC90 SUV based on any one of GM's SUV body styles? I might be
mistaken- but I 'saw' a few vehicles that look very very similar to the
XC90? Any opinions?

94 860 odometer kaput... Fixable?29 Jun 2004 01:54 GMT5
The good news: Tire shop gave me a free rebalance because I had driven
only 150 miles in the last 3 months.
The bad news:  My odometer quit working 150 miles after I had the
wheels balanced the first time..
Carbon cleaning - regular service item ?28 Jun 2004 22:09 GMT7
I recently had my V70 serviced and was told that the car hadn't had a
"carbon clean" in 2 years and it was time to get it done.  By "carbon
clean" I understand that they meant fuel injector and valve cleaning,
probably by flushing a de-gumming agent through the system.  At ...
850 power seat control module connections28 Jun 2004 19:45 GMT2
I replaced my old seats in my 850 SE with leather seats. The new seats have
the power control module with the 3 memories.
There are three wires that go to the unit, one black, one white and one
red/green.

I have a 740 GLE that i just changed the plugs and wires on. While

i pulled off all of the wires without noting the proper location of
each wire on the distributor cap.
S60 auto box - repaired?28 Jun 2004 13:52 GMT2
Got my S60 auto back from the garage yesterday - gearchanges had become
intermittently quite snatchy, and a couple of times it seemed to slip
momentarily into neutral. All fixed under warranty, but when I asked what
they had done, they said they had changed the "control valve unit" ...
