| Volvo/ Alpine double DIN head unit lamps | 13 Jun 2004 18:00 GMT | 3 |
My headunit has a blown bulb. I know it's the bulb as I've taken the facia off the unit and swapped the bulds around (there are 4 in total on this unit) so I know it is not the bulb socket/ pcb which is at fault.

Many thanks for your advice of 9 June: this morning I drove to a local spares dealer to buy a new battery, and as luck would have it, the old battery died on their forecourt! They fitted the new on in about five minutes, and hey presto!, no more problems.

| 89 740 GL A/C recharge problems | 12 Jun 2004 23:35 GMT | 1 |
The A/C started blowing ambient air, no cooling, and the A/C clutch was cycling. The car has been converted to R134A. I got three cans of 11oz refrigerant, plus stop leak and detector, and attempted to get it cooling again. Got all three cans in after a long while, for a total of ...

I'm thinking of purchasing a newer used Volvo and I was thinking of the 940, 960, or 850. But then I saw the 1999 Volvo C70. Wow!! My only fundamental question is: will it be as reliable as my Volvo 240DL? The first thing that came to mind was that (maybe) this Volvo
