1989 240 DL Squeeling26 Jul 2004 04:29 GMT11
Some days when I start it up and give it some gas I hear a squeeling from
the engine. Other days I dont. On the days I do, it goes away after running
for a little bit. Any thoughts?
Also, I just got the exhaust replaced...went from the CAT, with a pipe

1988 740 Estate
I found today that on two wheels same side I have badly damaged threads,
this has been caused by an idiot who did some work taking the wheels off
with an air gun.
440 Fuse #2325 Jul 2004 20:09 GMT3
Any ideas what is this? Actually, in my manual it stated that it should
not be used. Ok, I took that fuse out of there. Hm... If it works never
touch it! A lot of secondary equipment went off: central lock, radio,
clock, interior lights (although I discovered that the fuse is the ...

'89 740 wagon (Estate)25 Jul 2004 12:07 GMT4
I have a chance to get an '89 740 wagon for $300. The engine has been
replaced about 40,000 miles ago, with 40,000 on it (80,000 now)
It is in decent shape. Needs paint (this I can do) and seems to need
springs. Interior is ok, nothing spectacular. The car was not well
92 244 Radio Job - Partial Success, Cruise Control Side Effect25 Jul 2004 11:52 GMT5
Well, Using my Metra harness and bezel kits, I have managed to
partially install my new radio. I discovered after the fact that the
speaker wires on the *power plug* connector are the ones to the front, not

'95 940 fuel gauge problem24 Jul 2004 22:14 GMT1
My 940 seems to have a developed a fuel guage indication problem.  It's
stuck on empty (or thereabouts), with the warning LED on regardless of how
much fuel is in the tank.  I suspect the sending unit/float assembly is
responsible for the erroneous indication.  I was able to "free" ...

Can anyone tell me where the service port is on my 89 240?  I've
looked everywhere, and the only ports I can find are both on the
drier, and neither is a fitting that appears of have a Shraeder valve.
I bought a conversion kit from a Volvo source that has the fittings
V40 T4 Alarm Problem (1999 UK Spec).24 Jul 2004 19:06 GMT1
I have a problem with the above alarm (Volvo factory fitted).  I
accidentally left a cooler plugged into the cigarette lighter all night

I jump started the car and drove for about two hours, and the battery

Front main seal replacement - 84 240GLE24 Jul 2004 17:07 GMT1
The front main has gone in the beast.   Haemorrhaging badly.....
I have ordered the front main seal, as well as the two other seals and a new
timing belt as I am not sure when it was replaced last.  This doesn't seem
to have the flame trap like my earlier 79 245.  Is there ...
