You mean this problem is caused by using low octane petrol AND carbon build-up at valves?
But I use 98 unleaded octane petrol. So is it still ok to use 92 or 93 (lower than my usual 98) with some Techron?

I drove my 1988 240 DL to the store and when I tried to start it
again, it would not start.  The starter turns over just fine.  Once, I
had a problem with the fuel injection relay, and it behaved the same
