Back-up Light Lens12 Aug 2004 23:43 GMT12
Our '93 240 Classic wagon arrived home today with the left-hand back-up
light lens missing and the right-hand one hanging loose (undamaged).
Has anyone ever heard of these things coming loose?
Are these lenses available separate from the entire assembly?

Volvo 850 Turbo smoking, no power12 Aug 2004 20:42 GMT12
My girlfriend has a 1994 Volvo 850 Turbo.  She told me that when she
first got it, it was very quick, which is what I would expect.  Since
then the power had fallen off, so that by the time we started going
out this January, I'd describe the car as just adequate.
850 difference12 Aug 2004 14:53 GMT2
Is there a big difference between a '92-'94 and '94-'98 850 series ?
Aside from the obvious. Reliability issues, maintenance costs, etc. ?

Fuel injection relay, 1989 760 turbo12 Aug 2004 13:24 GMT1
Can anyone tell me which relay is for the fuel injection on a 1989 760
turbo?  The Haynes manual is useless, as it only covers up to 1988, and the
position of the relays moved to under the plastic cowling under the right
(passenger) side of the dash.
2001 S40 - value is high?12 Aug 2004 04:14 GMT3
So...I don't see too many S40's on the road here (Portland, Oregon) but
there tend to be a few at the dealers.  Pretty much set on purchasing one
but dealers seem to be way overpriced.  Majority of the ones I have seen
range 15ish to as high at 17 with 50,000 miles on them - some ...

the switch.   No worries, came in under 70 bucks AUS, but software download

Weird wheel question11 Aug 2004 14:42 GMT16
I've got a 2001 S80 with aluminum alloy wheels.
My car is usually kept pretty clean but inevitably 2 or 3 days after a car
wash the brake dust begins to build up and becomes noticeable no matter how
clean the rest of the car is - but that's perfectly normal and not the point
Retrofitting A/C to R134 on a '88 240 Wagon11 Aug 2004 14:21 GMT6
My a/c compressor went out on my 240 and I thought it might be a good
time to retrofit the system. I found a kit on ebay ($25)thats has all
the washers and rings it says I will need to do the job. Just
wondering if any other home mechanics out there have done this job?
740 trunk struts replacement procedure?11 Aug 2004 02:17 GMT3
Struts doesnot lift in winter(-20 c) but fine in summer.one previous
thread on a 240 seems to indicate that for a sedan you will need a
bracket to compress the new struts.
what's the procedure?
940 auto: How do you remove the shifter handle?11 Aug 2004 01:39 GMT1
I need to get inside shifter well of  my '95 940.   While removing the
center console for a good cleaning, emergency brake adjustment, and putting
everthing back together, I noticed that the shifter lamp was no longer
working.  I have no idea how that happened (I wasn't messing ...

resistance looking into the control unit of the temperature sensor

the left of the thermostat.)
