I have a 2000 v70 with 60k miles with faulty engine control module.
The problems began when we noticed the interior fans on the car
running full tilt when we returned to it on a hot day. Then the cruise
control function became intermittent,and then we got the sysyem

I took a 93 volvo 240 wagon to my mechanic to get his opinion on
buying it. He gave me the thumbs up! There was an oil leak which the
seller was happy to pay to have fixed. His diagnosis was the oil pan
he made the repairs and it still leaked and now the car constantly

I live near Birmingham, AL and am having a hard time locating a
suitable project vehicle. If my information is correct, there was a
dealership in B'ham in the 60's but there are very few 60-70 model
Volvos around.

I have just noticed the fuel pump relay on my 760 runs quite warm 57
centigrade to be exact.A new relay runs at the same temperature,this strikes
me has to warm. any ideas?

I have a 2003 S40 with 25K miles on it.  I just had to have the rear brakes
replaced.  Is this normal?  I have owned several cars, and never had to
replace the rear brakes so soon, even before the front brakes!  Most of my
driving has been highway (about 80%).

Bought  Volvo s-70 GLT in May.
over about 3000 miles got 30 mpg
service light came on, so
changed oil, air filter, oil filter, now gas mileage is about 25 mpg?

Thanks to the group for the excellent advice re my 740.  I was  
experiencing complete loss of electrical power when I made a sharp left  
turn.  As suggested, I checked where the ground strap was routed by the  
under engine supports.

that the tensioner does not seem to be working right.  The plastic ends have

I have a 2000 Volvo S80 T6 that is overheating with the air
conditioning on. I first suspected the thermostat, but was told there
have been problems with the 2 speed engine fan. Any ideas on how to
troubleshoot the fan, before just getting a new one.

I noticed that the oil pan of my 89 740 wagon is sitting on the rubber  
bumbper just above the supports; I am told this means I need new engine  
mounts.
Is that for sure?  The fan is definitely not centered in the radiator  

I just found the source of my P0172 problem...the vacuum hose behind
the power steering pump.  I checked bay13, and it talks about moving
or removing the power steering pump to gain enough access to get at
the clamp holding the hose at the manifold.
