The following is a long post about an 88 240 wagon with 237,500 miles
that I have only owned for 9 months and I now offer for sale in northern
NJ.  The biggest issue is that the auto trans is not shifting into 4th
(overdrive) but I'm expecting to receive a replacement solenoid ...

This is the first time that I have done an oil consumption test on our
850.  There was a loss of about 0.5 quarts (maybe a little less than that)
in 1100 miles.  This was measured using the dipstick.
There's no oil in the driveway, and the engine compartment is quite clean,

I have a 1988 740 Estate manual gearbox so no oil cooler on radiator.
I am going to fit a radiator from a 740 estate with a automatic

Minor niggle, but the mechanism that lets you adjust the width of the
jaws has failed, so it's always wide open.  It's been like that for a
while (since I got the car in fact) but I've lived with it until the
next service.

today I  noticed a leak in the cooling system from the hose that goes from
the radiator to  the lower part of the engine. The leak got bigger on my
drive home ~5min and soaked completely the oil sender wiring+ alternator +
engine wiring harness.

What is the range in which the driver-side mirror should move through

Looking for advice...tips...tricks an raising the back seat.  I had

Recently purchased 2001 model.Very poor braking effeciency on cold startup
