My 1993 850 needs a new clutch now that it has 160,000miles and been
subjected to 5 drivers including my 2 children. I'm interested in anyone's
experience replacing it. I have done all of the work on this car since it

Convert 850 Auto to Standard ?28 Dec 2004 15:01 GMT6
What do y'all think of the possibility of converting my 1996 850 automatic

Any chance I might sell the used auto tranny to help offset the cost?
Any recommendations of someone to do the job in the Boston area?
S70 computer recalibration28 Dec 2004 14:50 GMT2
The check engine light on my S70 went on.  The code was P0172, which
was caused by a vacuum leak due to a hole in the little rubber elbow
near the intake manifold--thanks for the clues, guys.
I reset the OBD and now have gone through the driving sequence several
cold idle problem, 1993 24527 Dec 2004 14:38 GMT7
My wife's new-to-her 1993 245 has shown a cold weather idling problem
(e.g., around 0F).  It lopes and surges while idling, dying
frequently.  This persists for a good half an hour or so, long after
the engine has reached normal operating temperature, although the

I first saw this in the Canada Extra section (not listed in the recalls
in the "American" part) of Consumer Reports about 2 weeks ago.
Surprisingly, I just got a letter from Volvo Canada asking me to bring
my car in for headlight switch inspection.

Broken seat 1996 - 85025 Dec 2004 01:17 GMT1
The power seat (passenger side) is in the fully forward position and will
not move.  Is there any way to manually move it back?  Tilt and up/down work
OK.   Also where can I get an electrical diagram of the power seat?  Thanks

'96 850 Wagon - fan/air vent noise?24 Dec 2004 21:15 GMT4
When I first turn on the window defroster or heating on very cold days
there is a high pitched whine (almost like a whistling kettle) that
comes from the front passanger air vent.  It only happens when the fans
are on full.
