Engine swap question08 Feb 2005 03:08 GMT6
I've got a line on a '73 142 with a blown B20 engine.  Is it feasable to
pull the engine & tranny and install a B21 turbo and 4speed o.d. tranny?  Or
does this mean too much sheet metal surgery?
1967 volvo 144-anyone have one? Are they good?08 Feb 2005 03:02 GMT3
My friend is offering to trade me his volvo 144 and I was considering
rebuilding the engine  and throwing on some webers.
It is a lovely car, good for my lifestyle with ample room for camping
gear and a roof rack.
Volvo vs. VW reliability?08 Feb 2005 01:16 GMT15
I know I am in for some biased but am hoping for some fair opinions.
This questions is directed to Volvo owners that have owned or still own
a VW as well.
In your experience - which of the two vehicles has been most reliable?

Can anyone tell me how to adjust the aim on a 2005 S80's headlights? Where
are the horizontal and vertical adjustment screws/dials/levers located?
Thanks in advance...
260 Headlights08 Feb 2005 00:15 GMT5
I have 2 distinct brightnesses at both the headlights & all the instrument
lights, high beam & low, which doesn't seem dependent on engine revs, road
roughness etc... just brightens for a short while then goes back to
dull-ish. Hard to say which brightness is normal, the instruments ...

S60-T Accelerated on its own!07 Feb 2005 19:18 GMT26
While at a red light, my foot on the brake, my 2002 S60-T (34,000 miles)
accelerated (as if someone suddenly stomped on the accelerator) all by
itself.  I kept my foot on the brake but the car began to go through an
intersection, anti-lock brakes thumping away.  I made a quick ...

A number of my dash switche's indicator lights are out.

At $35/each for replacement switches, are the little indicator lights that

Considering buying a 1998 V9007 Feb 2005 05:31 GMT9
Hello all, I am considering purchasing a 1998 V70 wagon from a private
owner to replace my aging "War Horse" 1990 740 GL with 180,000 miles. I
am regrettably retiring the 740 due to multiple problems that among

89 740gl radio06 Feb 2005 19:53 GMT7
Just lost the FM on my radio, and AM is on the way out.  If I wedge a
screwdriver under the dial knob, FM works for a while.  Sounds like
it's time for a new radio.  Any tricks I need to be aware of if I
replace it with an aftermarket AM/FM/CD.  Thanks for your help.
