| 850 Turbo, low power | 10 Mar 2005 14:05 GMT | 4 |
Today my 1995 850 turbo would not rev over 2700. Turbo appreared to have no boost. After running 10 miles (at 20-30 mph flat out), I let it sit for an hour, and everything worked. Had to drive through a blizzard yesterday. Any ideas what went wrong, and how to prevent it in the ...

| 265 1980 Normal Running Temp | 10 Mar 2005 02:17 GMT | 3 |
Does anyone have an idea where the temp gauge should normally sit? The car shows no signs of overheating but the radiator isn't too flash and the gauge sits at about three quarters. Doesn't seem to change much with ambient temp either.

| V40 brakes | 09 Mar 2005 23:57 GMT | 1 |
I had my 2002 V40 serviced at the main dealer today - all was well except the front brakes are 80% worn. The garage said they could be left a bit longer before replacement. If they brakes are down to 20% of original (whatever) surely I should replace them now. But if the ...

| Glazed rotor 850 | 09 Mar 2005 09:50 GMT | 11 |
I bought my 1997 Volvo 850 a couple of years ago. The brakes began squealing within a couple of weeks. I took it in for a brake job to the tune of $450, which worked for a couple of days. Now another mechanic says the rotors are glazed, need to be turned, then if I put

| S70 Timing Belt Change - UK Only | 08 Mar 2005 23:41 GMT | 2 |
How much should I expect to pay for having the timing belt changed at a main dealer? Quite frankly I don't trust any of my local independents to do it right, and the nearest independent Volvo specialist I can find is about 30 miles away.

My 1988 740 Estate is the best car I have owned. I am looking for someone in the South Wales area who works on Volvos as a hobby so is cheap so I can keep the car for another 14 months, if so they can have the car in 14 months for nothing

| Engine temperature - 850 TDI | 08 Mar 2005 18:43 GMT | 1 |
My engine temperature sometimes changes (getting colder) a little e.q. when driving down-hill or when idling in traffic jams. Is this normal or a sympton on a defect thermostat?

Hi to all, I was driving the family 1998 S70 (non turbo) and out of the blue the "check engine" light turns on. I was near an auto parts place that will retrieve the code. I got two codes. P0133 and P0140. From the time the
