Hope this hasn't come up before and I missed it....
Last week we bought an '87 760 wagon (turbo, although the turbo bit
doesn't work... ahem, anyway....) for $650. On Saturday it died :-(

For the old (but awesome 700 series) - how long do you think the turbo
is good for.
If I purchase an old 700 series turbo with more than 270 000KM what are
the weak spots I should be looking for.

My secondary air injection pump was already replaced once
(a year or two ago).  Now it's sounding like a blender full of
rocks when it runs.  So far the Check Engine light hasn't come
on, so I guess it's still working.  Is there any way to lubricate

90 240 DL wagon one side died a month ago then other. Thought may be
radio. Replaced with exact but used radio. Got from salvage yard I have

driver side and a pair of front speaker covers.

I have a 1989 DL Volvo. I  put in one of these and have experienced the
engine running smoother as well as a little more pep.  I had read on this
message board people saying that the filter can hurt the engine  is this
true?

...should be easy, right? But the bloody thing has an 8mm (maybe) square
socket in the sump plug, a tool for which isn't available from any tool shop
around here. Haven't tried a volvo dealer yet but don't want to give the
satisfaction. Just wanted to say... geeze.

there is a metal hose that comes out of underside of turbo that enters the
engine block around the oil filter, what is it? the previous owner looks
like he had sealed it with some sort of putty, while putting new head
gasket on car this got loosened and started leaking oil, does ...

Any one know how to cure this? The steering lock just will not release. Not
an autobox.
