Conversion of 850 to anything but gasoline07 Apr 2005 20:24 GMT1
With gas expected to break through $55US a barrel permanently and
possibly even $100US within the next few years, I'm seriously
considering flipping my car to either natural gas or better yet,
e-power.

Struts/shocks for 850 GLT- replacement opinions?07 Apr 2005 07:35 GMT9
I'm in need of replacing my shocks and struts on my 93 850. My
local Volvo mechanic does not recommend OEM replacements, which I
believe are Boge. He recommends Bilstein Touring Shocks as
replacements. He seems to imply that the OEM shocks and struts are a

I was considering buying a second hand volvo 850 T5 which has LPG
fitted. Should this car be ok on LPG, bearing in mind it has a turbo?
Is there anything I should be aware of? Not sure what to look for when
inspecting a car with LPG fitted.

'240 Fire!!  How to troubleshoot after fixing wiring?05 Apr 2005 07:55 GMT5
I am a first-time owner of a 1982 '240.
I have been a General Motors owner all of my life.
This '240 was given to me by a co-worker.
It has been a project car for my 16-year old son and me.
'93 850 won't start05 Apr 2005 07:05 GMT6
I have a '93 850 GLT w/ 200k miles that was running great. Now it will
turn over but won't start. I replaced the spark plugs before this all
happened and started up for a minute- it ran fine. 2 days later I went
to start and it doesn't fire up. I pulled 2 plugs to see a healthy
V70 Shift-Lock Override? None?05 Apr 2005 01:11 GMT6
My key won't turn in the ignition of my 2003 V70. Tried several
sets--same problem.
Called Volvo Roadside Assistance, told them that towing it will be
tricky b/c it's parked in my garage. They said let the tow truck driver

Fan running after shutdown04 Apr 2005 16:06 GMT11
I'm an automobile mental midget.  I have a '94 940 Station wagon, and
I've recently noticed that the fan is staying on after I shut off my
car.  It runs for a couple of minutes and then stops.  My old car used
to do this (nissan) and it was ok, but my volvo just started this.  Is
Hydronic Heater Volvo 745 GLT, 8903 Apr 2005 20:17 GMT1
I have an old hydronic heater I have just fixed. (Dead glow pin)
But wonder where to mount it in the engine compartment?
Have Volvo a certain place to put it, I think it should be well clear of
brake lines etc.
in tank fuel pump pressure?03 Apr 2005 05:58 GMT7

working on using an intank fuel pump from a 1982 volvo 240 in a modified
Yamaha Virago xv700 motorcycle and I need to make sure that it can put out

240 to an 85003 Apr 2005 03:49 GMT15
Been a loyal 240/740 owner for 10 years.
Time to move on, does the 850 wagon hold the same reputation for
reliability and modest repair costs?
I am looking at a 94 with 130K.
