Volvo 940 GL 2.0 1991 Estate UK, car has started to make a horrible noise
under braking.  Intermittent, not always.  Comes from Passenger side front,
took the wheel off last night, outside of disc looks good, pad this side has
almost the thickness of a cd case on it.

I was ready to do this yesterday. Did some research at brickboard
and figured I had all the info and tools and the replacement seal
to get it done.

Nice weather has finally arrived , and I have replaced the hood
release cable on my 1990 240 wagon (with air bags.)
(I got the new cable from Swedish Engineering, and it's fine.)
Here's my question: I can now open the hood by pulling on the

Every time I go over uneven part of the road I have loose vibrating
metal sound from the rear top. I checked the spring bump stop and it
looks secure. I think it is the rear shock mount.
What are the symptoms of a defective shock mount?
