Have a '92 Volvo 240GL.  The right rear brakelight is the problem.
When I put the bulb in with just the car lights on, all lights are fine
except for the right brake light.  It is lit up in the "brake applied"
position(brighter than the normal taillight).  When I push the brake

 - My lights no longer flash when I arm/set the alarm using my remote
The locks lock, for sure ... but no flashing of the lights - which makes
me wonder if the alarm is set.

My symptoms have me baffled.  First indications of trouble was heavy
skipping each time I shifted gears.  As engine speed picked up, it
smoothed out and drove fine.

It is an 89 model 740 GL sedan. If you punch the accelerator in order
to pass a car, hitting about 4000 RPM, the engine shuts down. You have
to coast to a stop and put in park before it will start again.   What
would cause this? Fuel pump ?

Does the 2001 S40 have a manual or a Automatic timing bet tensioner?
Has anyone changed their own timing belt or should I go
to the dealer. I do all my own work, but never did a timing belt.
