Radiator advice for '92-240 sedan08 Jul 2005 00:10 GMT6
My 1992-240 sedan has about 225K on it. Still runs great. Had radiator
cleaned 3 years ago. Replaced thermostat a year ago. Have noticed that temp
gauge needle goes above normal range but not quite into "red zone"
occasionally. Have noticed it more lately especially when idling for ...
S80 - i am considering one, am I crazy?07 Jul 2005 22:17 GMT5
I looked one over yesterday and it does drive nice.
Can anyone give me the lowdown on the problems that
are common to this car? I am looking at a 2003
and it appears to be a "base" model. It has 49K miles on it
Keyless Entry - Solution to ClickClickClick07 Jul 2005 20:32 GMT2
As many do, I had problems with my keyless entry on a '97 850. I read
some threads on it, but nothing worked. (hold it to your chin? REALLY!)
I opened the fob by cutting away the top of the little plastic rivet,
pried out the circuit board, and found much white corrosion on the

For the past year my my wife's 740 has had starting problems on

Turning the key lights the indicator lights but it won't turn over.
Eventually it will start.  Maybe after a few minutes.  Maybe after an

1997 965 hub torque06 Jul 2005 03:15 GMT3
Hi there !!
I will replace the front hubs of my 1997 965, and was wondering about the
torque value for the nut that holds the hub in place, and anything special I
should look out for.
1974 144: ticking noise from the front driver's side wheel06 Jul 2005 02:39 GMT5
Now that summer is here and I ride with the windows down (nature's a/c) I've
notice a speed sensative ticking noise coming from the front driver's side
wheel area?  Bushings? Bearings?  Where do I start?  I already checked and
there aren't any rocks or nails in the tire tread.  ...

fuel pump05 Jul 2005 22:49 GMT4
how much should i expect to pay for a new '95 volvo 940 fuel pump? at the
shop they told me 300euros which seems to me quite a lot; they say it's so
expensive because it's original bosh and there's no other aftermarket brand
that produces such pumps. coud that be really so?
Volvo 44005 Jul 2005 22:09 GMT2
My husband is very close to buying a 1992 Volvo 440 1.8L SE. Any
opinions regarding this model? The mileage is quite low (for Norway)
at 165,000 km and the price is far less than we were expecting to pay
and well within what we can afford. It has had one previous owner (an
'93 850, parking brake clunk?05 Jul 2005 16:31 GMT9
'93 850, 5 speed, 143K miles.
I get a nasty clunk from the parking brake when I pull up on the handle,
when the car is moving forward maybe 5-10 MPH.  As if something's loose
inside the mechanism.  Parking brake mechanism also seems balky, sticks
Vibration/Rumble only at certain speed05 Jul 2005 15:35 GMT3
My 1984 240 DL wagon recently started vibrating/shuddering like crazy, but
ONLY between 40 and 50 mph -- keep below 40, or above 50, and it's smooth.
The vibration stops, even between 40-50, if I take my foot off the gas. The
rumble sounds from the rear.
