Feedback Request on fix to Overdrive Relay in '94 94005 Aug 2005 13:36 GMT3
Thanks to several posts in this newsgroup, I was able to identify the
culprit behind the overdrive light sporadically coming on, one time
while driving 70 mph on the highway, resulting in a sudden drop down to
50 mph! As I know many of you know, this has to do with a faulty
Temp gauge, '94 85005 Aug 2005 01:55 GMT3
Does the '94 850 have one of those odd 'middle of the dial' tpe temp
gauges, like some of the 240s?
My radiator cap cracked  yesterday, and was spewing coolant for who
knows how long, until the low water light came on...the gauge never
240 spare tire04 Aug 2005 19:22 GMT5
1991 245 -- I went to check the air in my spare tire the other day,
and there was a problem...the tire had exploded!  Tread blew off, huge
hole, etc.  Glad I wasn't driving when it blew, or I'd have ruined the
upholstery.
Leatherique for the 1998 Volvo C70 Coupe Seats Question04 Aug 2005 19:00 GMT3
Hello. I am not very handy with cars, but have noticed some early
signs of creasing within my C70's sport seats. I want to be proactive
on this matter to ensure longevity and condition. Has anyone tried
the leatherique product? Is it easy to apply? What is the worst case
temperature gauge is all the way up 86 24004 Aug 2005 16:22 GMT9
Well, yesterday I just needed to drive a short distance from home and
even though I needed some gas I decided to keep driving, I was very
tired and did'nt feel like stopping. The fuel guage was almost in the
red when I got to where I was going, and when I was leaving the car had

just returned from a 500 mile round trip down and back in one day to
south florida....on the trip back my pristine  96 850 with just over
107,000miles on the odometer seemed to develop a severe case of not able
to go over 70 mph on the interstate...if i pushed furthur down on the
Glowing Dash Lights on 24004 Aug 2005 13:38 GMT2
I have a 1989 240.
If I am cruising at a steady speed (say 60 mph) eventually most of the
dash lights will begin to glow. Not fully on, but a dim glow.
Sometimes if I let off the gas, slow down, speed up, etc.  they will
US NHTSA Announces Investigation into Volvo Sudden Engine Death Problem04 Aug 2005 02:25 GMT2
You can read about it at:

This sounds like one of the problems owners have reported here many times.
I am amazed that Volvo does not have a more customer-focused response
Re-setting The Radio04 Aug 2005 01:30 GMT9
I have a 1992 Volvo 940.  I had a starter replaced and now I need to
re-start my radio.  Unfortunately, I have no idea where the little card
is with the code on it.  Is there any way to be able to re-start the
radio without having to go to the dealer and fatten their pockets?
US service light reset tool in a UK Volvo?04 Aug 2005 00:05 GMT1
I am leaving the US for South Africa within a month, and have just
sold my car ('98 S70).
I have a service light reset tool purchased for Volvo 850s, purchased
from IPD-USA.  My brother has a '97 850 purchased in the UK.
960 driveshaft03 Aug 2005 14:46 GMT1
My 960 have had some noise during acceleration  from stand still and also
some vibration driving more than 100k/h. I replaced the centre support and
the bearing in the driveshaft, but there is not much change. I check again
the driveshaft again and I noticed that the U-joints are ...

3rd Party Car Alarm03 Aug 2005 14:41 GMT3
I have a 1998 S70 with a Commando Car Alarm that I installed about 3
years ago. So far the thing has been awsome asside from having to
replace a few fuses. My new problem is that when I remote start the car
now the AC/Heat will not come on. No settings have been changed on the
Volvo 460 rough idle after clutch change03 Aug 2005 08:43 GMT4
Change the clutch on my fathers 460 last weekend (1.8i, 1993/94 hmm.....big
job on a volvo isn't it!). Job went ok but tickover now seems very rough.
Checked vac pipe and all the wires I can find.....any clues as to what I
might have missed?
89 740 GL: Is the leak from the rear seal?03 Aug 2005 05:12 GMT5
It is using oil like crazy, but not burned. I watched underneath the
car with it running, and there is a  drip, about  one  a minute,
coming off of the RH lower bell housing bolt. Definitely oil, not
trans fluid! I would think then that the oil is coming out the rear
