new to me 94 940 turbo09 Sep 2005 05:30 GMT1
Well just got her on E-Bay motors, 171k.  It seems very nice except for
three problems, any advice would be nice.
It seems to lean a way lot making left turns--but not right.  Have yet to
crawl under it--does it have an rear anti sway bar--perhaps a link snaped?
replacing thermostat in '74 14409 Sep 2005 02:36 GMT2
The thermostat in my 1974 144 has been sticking so I'm going to pick up an
IPD replacement and install it soon.  Looks easy enough although I've never
done it before.  Any install tips or hints?  Do I need to drain any coolant
before I do it?
Seat back motor grinds away but no seat movement09 Sep 2005 00:57 GMT1
Where do I find information on trougble-shooting the seat-back motor
and its connection to the seat?
I haer the motor working (vibrations and sound) but there's no change
in the seat postition.
740 turbodiesel gasket between turbo and airfilter tube?08 Sep 2005 19:50 GMT4
When I was looking under the hood of my 1989 turbodiesel van I saw that oil
was leaking from the ventilation on top of the engine in the lid above the
valves. The rubber tube from there goes into a metal manifold(?) which is
attached to the turboloader on one end and to a plastic ...
Anyone in the mid-Atlantic States parting out a 940 wagon?08 Sep 2005 15:00 GMT1
I am looking to extend the useful life of our 1994 940 wagon. Mechanically it is sound right now (170K+ miles), and I am looking for replacement seats. The original tan cloth seats, while still very comfortable, are stained from years of dribbles from juice boxes, sippy cups, and ...
740 clutch control arm problem08 Sep 2005 00:21 GMT7
Anyone come across this and how did you fix it. Driving along and you push
the clutch in. Clutch pedal goes all the way to the floor and doesn't come
up again. You pull over and stop. On looking at the clutch slave cylinder
and clutch release arm you find that the clutch slave ...
95 850 TURBO WAGON  starting problem07 Sep 2005 23:36 GMT6
Wife was driving fine all day. Went to start, nothing. Got the mumbo jumbo
display on the radio and all warning lights were dim. I couldn't even get
the windows to go up. After a couple of seconds turn key again and still
nothing but the warning lights look normal and I was able to ...
Does a Volvo V70 Tdi reequire specialist servicing?06 Sep 2005 15:44 GMT5
Does the late 90's volvo v70 Tdi (UK) require specialist servicing (ie
Volvo main dealer)or can a decent independent do it? Do independents
have the equipment/skills to plug into the engine for diagnostics?
Independent volvo specialists seem much rarer for some reason compared
1995 850 Airbag Sensor or Control Module06 Sep 2005 15:15 GMT1
I just bought a 1995 Volvo 850 and the SRS light does not light up upon
turning the ignition on.  I had the local Volvo dealership do quite a bit of
diagnostics.  They finally determined the some one had spilled a large coke
to go on the center console and it some how destroyed ...
A/C - Dashboard warning lights06 Sep 2005 15:14 GMT2
On my 1990 Volvo 740GL the A/C compressor cycles about every 10 to 30
seconds, when the a/c clutch kicks in, the dashboard warning lights flash,
the a/c compressor clutch releases and in a few seconds it happens again.
Any ideas on what to check or replace?
Tracs and ABS dashboard lights06 Sep 2005 14:48 GMT1
On our 1998 V70 (101373 miles), the tracs and ABS lights are now staying lit
when the motor starts.  (The car got a routine servicing shortly after 100K
miles.)
Does this mean we have lost the ABS braking system?  The regular brakes seem
Volvo Relays06 Sep 2005 13:26 GMT9
Mine is a 1991 Station Wagon, 740.  140K miles.  I had a no-start several
days ago but it has started OK since.  I suspected the fuel pump relay so I
pulled it and put it back in (presumably cleaning the contacts in the
process).  The car has been fine since then.  But I am ...
10 Valve 85006 Sep 2005 07:27 GMT1
I'm considering purchase of an 1994 850 sedan. It has a 10 valve engine.
Is it considered as reliable as the 20 valve version?
Does the 10 valve engine use regular rather than premium gas?
Does it get better mileage than the 20 valve engine?
VADIS 2001 Edition F05 Sep 2005 19:51 GMT2
I've downloaded and installed VADIS 2001 Edition F.
It installs without any problem, with the exception of the configurator,
which during the setup gives me an error (cannot find regsvr32.exe) but
apparently this should not influece a good installation.
location speed sensor05 Sep 2005 19:24 GMT1
Hi, Does any one have an overview of the X70 transmission? I'm looking for
the speed sensor.
