The Service Engine Light illuminates regularly on my S40.  The Volvo tech
told me to loosen the gas cap and retighten.  The light will go out but only
temporarily.  It is approaching it's recommended maintenance mileage.  Could
that be why the light keeps illuminating?

Anyone have recommendations for reliable and reasonable Volvo service in the
Raleigh, NC area?

My 940 Turbo (4 cyl automatic) *was* working great ... until I brought it
home from the seller's house :)
Apparently the car would start then when at the stop sign, it died and would
not start again. The car turns over and I was told it is likely the fuel

I went over a corner of a high curb and bent my jacking pin on Volvo 850
wagon. I will use hydraulic jack. Which places are safe to use to jack the
car? Where should I put the stands? I will be replacing my rear brakes, pads
and discs.

I have a 1985 Volvo 240 DL 4 speed manual with the overdrive button atop the
gearshift lever. The wiring inside the gearshift lever is tenuous at best.
Overdrive works, which is the good news, but the button/wiring business
inside the gearshift lever is  for all intents and purposes ...

Does anyone know where to find these except through the dealer.  When i
sold my 850T-5 i included them.  But now i want to get some for another
car i have, plus for my moms car.  And no I'm not some punk little kid
wasting time, I'm 27 and my mom knows nothing about cars.  Thanks ...

I am having problems with the tranny.  It won't shift into 4th-overdrive
until the car has been driven for about 10-15 Minutes.

I have a 940, Wentworth, turbo estate (1993) that has an intermittent
cutting out problem ....as it would appear lots of other people have,
having had a read through your forum and others on Volvo issues.
This has now become a real puzzle and no one has been able to solve it

i have a volvo v70 5tse s reg and last night there alot of smoke coming
from the off side disc and i started to lose power.I waited for 5min and
