swap 2.3 for a 2.3 turbo, 240, is it possible?29 Oct 2005 18:14 GMT7
I can purchase a 2.3 turbo engine from the wreckers, is it possible to swap
this into my '89 240 without too many dramas?
Or are there other ways to 'extract' a little more power out of my 240
brick?

I own 3 oldies (90, 92 & 93) all have between 60K-150K miles.  While I

Volvo340 makes rambling sound at 100kmh29 Oct 2005 00:26 GMT1
Anyone here knows the problem of driving 100kmh with a 1983 Volvo340,
and after a while something in the trunk starts rambling? I couldn't
find anything loose in the trunk, it isn't the back door, so I guess it
could be the exhaust pipe rambling against the fuel tank? At 110 kmh
740 spark plug replacement28 Oct 2005 17:31 GMT10
It might be common knowledge but I thought I'd share anyway...
I bought some new Bosch spark plugs for my 1989 2.3l 740 and three of the
old plugs came out with hardly a problem, the fourth though, in number three
cylinder, was tighter than a tight thing which had been tightened ...

I have a Volvo 98 940Turbo estate having run 168.000 km and in very good
shape except for one problem.  There is a 'chup chup chup' sound from
somewhere at 8 km/hour in both 4.th and 5th gear.   The sounds are strongest
when going up-hill and are heard of less with the car loaded ...

I posted earlier today "Replacing Shift Lever Cover."
I must not have had sufficient coffee.
I do have the cover unscrewed.
The problem was not knowing how much pressure it takes to remove the shift
S40 Auto - 3 problems - are they related???28 Oct 2005 13:34 GMT1
I have a S40 2.0i CD AUTO (96-98) and recently I have began to
encounter 3 problems and was wondering if they could be related.
1. Occassionaly, on a cold start, she will stall when I engage reverse

240 brake lights stay on28 Oct 2005 02:47 GMT1
Just bought a 93 240 wagon and the brake lights have started staying on
recently.  If the key is removed brake lights work nornally with relay
clicking when brake is depressed, and again when released.  Turn the
key on and brake lights come on when pedal is depressed, but when the
Break "Leaking" ?27 Oct 2005 20:48 GMT5
I have 96 Volvo 850 Wagon, Milage is about 87K.
Starting from 6 months ago, the ABS light is On and OFF for no reason.
After I checked the web, I realized it was a common "problem" for Volvo
850. For some people, they just ignore it. So did I.

v40 problems and more problems27 Oct 2005 19:20 GMT2
I'm in a 2004 V40.
After 8000 miles, the check engine light came on and I had to bring it
in for warranty repair.  They replaced the head gasket.
Then, at 11000 miles, the check engine light came on again.  This time,
1992 Volvo 240 dead battery27 Oct 2005 10:22 GMT10
My wife's 240 is parked most of the time. She may use it maybe once a week.
For the past several years in the winter the car will go absolutely dead.
I have had the battery checked and it checks out okay.  I have cleaned and
lubed ground connections in past. In the summer the car ...
Replacing Shift Lever Cover..Need Help27 Oct 2005 06:34 GMT4
